The Cheatin' Astros are in town. Though I think it makes Yankees fans look stupid, the F Altuve chants will be in full voice. Another series win to close out this stretch would be a big statement.

The top six of this Astros lineup are loaded plus they are getting Pena back in the next day or two, tough road for opposing SPs.

The Yankee rotation finally starting to come back to earth a bit, wonder if they will try to work Sears back in again for a start or two soon.

I have not seen much of this game but Rizzo's 16 pitch walk off Valdez in the 6th got him out of the game a full inning earlier, after 6 innings/100 pitches despite only giving up two hits. We'll see if that matters.

Good thing for the Yankees. I'm not going to study the precedent cases but I have to believe if the arbitrator is a human he's maybe slightly more biased towards Judge than he used to be.

NY had no hits for a 28 batter stretch between Stanton’s HR in the 1st and Hicks’ in the 9th, and still scored 7 runs in a 9 inning game.

The pitching staff collectively has similar numbers to Robbie Ray's Cy Young season last year (this is not an exaggeration), so some coming back to earth should be expected.

One interesting thing to keep an eye on for the rest of the series is that NY didn't use any of their best relievers last night while HOU has used all of their top four guys both of the last two days.

Dear Michael Kay, or whoever is feeding you info...

It is indeed factually correct that this Yankee team is somehow a game ahead of the pace of the 1998 team, 52-18 to 51-19 coming into tonight. If you're going to say that on air though, I highly recommend adding the context that the 1998 team immediately followed that with a 14-1 stretch to get to 65-20, followed by a 27-10 stretch to their season peak, 92-30. That was August 18, imagine having such a good record that you could coast for the last month and a half into a 114 win season, 22-18 to end before the 11-2 postseason.
