It is insane to think that 14 months ago the industry consensus was that Torres was a top 5 MLB prospect but maybe top out at 15 HRs in a season. That is his 41st since then and he is still 22.

Getting Gleyber in the Chapman deal was Cashman’s most impactful deal ever. He stole an all-star from Theo.

Froze a great young hitter on that pitch at 101, right in the upper corner.

That concludes the 10th edition of Hope Week, which is Monday-Friday once per season. NY is a ridiculous 38-13 in those games now, 5-0 this week.

Tanaka/Miley tomorrow, wonder how well Wade will sleep tonight?

Also serious amateur hour in the TV booth tonight, give Kay the day off tomorrow to rest up for Oldtimer's Day on Sunday and bring in Ryan Ruocco or even John Flaherty and let Cone and O'Neill do color.

In very good news on the Yankee TV front today, they plan to bring back my man Willie Randolph at least some this year, and also they are talking to Buck Showalter about doing some games too. They do not say specifically, but IMO David Wells did not do well in his on-air audition and shouldn't do more games, sorry dude.

Assuming Romine is catching tomorrow, who sits? Voit can't sit again so it is Sanchez or Encarnacion out of the lineup, normally you would give Sanchez the whole day but he is in a groove.

Maybin officially on the IL, strained calf. They didn't announce the move yet but Jack Curry thinks Tauchman also.

Kahnle is probably out tomorrow after two straight games and three in four nights, but hopefully Chad Green can give an inning if needed in between his opening slots. Chapman has pitched two straight also but only 7 pitches on Thursday and he was looking very strong at the end tonight. Tanaka to Ottavino/Britton is probably how NY would like to see it play out, though.
