When DJ comes up with a runner on second and first base open ... should you pitch around a leadoff hitter?

Tarp’s on the field. Would have happened sooner but the Yanks wouldn’t make 3 outs.

By the way, I appreciate NY waiting for me to switch over from the NBA draft before they started hitting home runs. Sanchez this inning was the first NY batter I saw...

Game is going again, it must be an hour or so since Cortes Jr threw a pitch.

Wow, that Stanton ball was one of the top three hardest hit all season, then Encarnacion blasted one into the stands. Welcome to the bigs, kid.

DH flexibility to give guys a rest is nice, but I've sorta wanted the Yankees to have their own Big Papi for a long time.

EE is close enough. :)

Astros pitchers are asking Astros hitters if they could please just make outs quickly so they can stop going out there.

Kay keeps talking about his pitch count, but he got up to 109 as a starter in AAA this season.

Here comes Chapman. Hale had a tough 8th, I didn't think he should have started this inning but also Maybin should have caught that ball and ended it.

I wonder if Hale pitched himself off the team tonight, he doesn't deserve that but we'll see. Big roster move probably coming shortly...

To be fair, we can hardly tinker with anything else to improve in our roster now besides pitching...
Right, but Cessa (DFAd/traded) or Cortes Jr (sent down) seemed like more likely moves coming into the night as Hale has been solid and can't be optioned. He was never going to stick around the whole season, though, so maybe that's the move for now.

Cortes Jr getting optioned is the move, so Cessa and Hale both survive. Cashman continues to hoard players, neither of those guys are going to survive the trading deadline but both are still here for now.

TB with 2 in the 9th (so far) to go ahead in OAK 3-1, Blake Treinen didn't get an out (walk/walk/single/single, pulled). Nice win for them if it holds.

I guess Hale will get the long man slot behind Green next time through the rotation, and then the off days before and after going to London will help.
