Yanks have lost three straight. It has been a team effort. These guys do everything together so it figures they need a little bit of everything to grab one measly win.
Chad Green launches a bullpen game tonight. Somebody named Lopez pitching for the White Sox, who have been playing with some arrogance these past two nights, a young team with talent, starting to feel good about themselves. Might be time to make some Chicago hitters move their feet. Voit got buzzed last night up and in the first pitch of his second at bat, after homering in the first inning.
Chad Green has so little command, he can honestly deny bad intentions. Just hit Eloy Jimenez or Tim Anderson in the ribs. Let’s have some fun tonight.

I just came in from the garage. The problem with acquiring a new (well to me) vehicle is that it requires replacement of all $8 of factory speakers and the addition of 2 amps and a decent musical sub. Unfortunately while I have been doing that sorta shit for 50 years, I can't recall requiring 50 of ibuprofen to make me feel even slightly human again...I'm as broken as our team is atm...

I just came back from Providence where a Gay Pride festival is taking over the city. Had a margarita at a Mexican Grill. No broken cars. Should have had two margaritas.

Cortes takes over, strikes out first two batters, then two singles and a deep fly to center off Abreu’s bat. Caught on the warning track by Hicks.

Yankees just traded for Edwin Encarnacion, not sure how they will fit him in but have always loved him.

My oldest brother, a Seattle fan, asked me two days ago if the Yanks would trade for EE and I scoffed. Now I owe him an apology.
It's pretty surprising but not if the price is low and it allows them to move Clint for pitching, who is blocked by Judge/Stanton in the corners when they are healthy.

Looks like the price is Juan Then, a very young pitcher who NY actually got from SEA as part of the Nick Rumbelow deal (who SEA released this week, heh).

Encarnacion and Sanchez are currently 1/2 in the AL in home runs.

How does this impact Voit’s playing time, if at all?
I don't think much, but I am not sure who is a 'better' defensive 1B, him or Encarnacion. I am going to start a new thread about this, because it is somewhat big.

Meanwhile amidst the excitement, Cortes Jr. is pitching his ass off.

He has 12 straight scoreless innings now over his last four appearances.

5 shutout innings for Cortes Jr on 70 pitches, let him keep going.

Heh, Castillo is going to feel pretty stupid when he sees these replays, the call on him was right and so was this one.

I stepped away for a second and just caught a snippet of Cone dogging Frazier. What did he do? Didn't bust it out of the box?

Clint knows he’s gone. He cooked his own goose with that embarrassing fielding display against Boston on Sunday night baseball. At least he kept hitting.

That might have been the first time we saw DJ's inexperience at 3B.

Fuck. Get one more out, Holder, and let Chapman finish it.

Heh, you saw him last night, has he really been better than DJ there? Close anyway.
True. I just worry about running DJ into the ground. The every day utility job, playing three positions, is a grind over 162. Zobrist did it well. Tough to take DJ’s bat out, though. He just singled here in ninth.

Good point about the dangers of grinding DJ down. Inexperience aside, still really nice to see him get to that ball :)

There's a run, DJ's stolen base in the middle there helping that along.

Lot of pitches for Chapman, but he finishes it on #22 on a 100 MPH swinging K.

Much needed win, back in first place.

Yankees pitchers: 16 K and 0 BB, their 2nd most strikeouts without a walk in a game in franchise history. The most is 18 on May 10, 2015 vs Orioles (Pineda 16-K game on Mothers Day)
