The last time we saw Lance Lynn, it was Game 3 of the ALDS and he got one out and allowed three runs. More of the same today and a much needed win.

Avoid the sweep games have been a charm this season.

It's amazing that last year's team was so incredibly enjoyable to watch, and this year with almost the same exact roster they're making me start to lose interest in June.

I cannot even count how many time last season I said, "I trust every guy on this roster and the manager." I miss those feelings.

34-34...not the kind of tribute Big Papi needs. Win today, please!

It's painful to accept that this team is nowhere near as charmed as last year. Some glaring holes in the roster. Can't make excuses about injuries. FFS the MFY's roster has been decimated but they manage to continue to win. They have stolen the Sox mojo.

So, you're saying they'll win Thursday's game?
Good lord, a four-game set. I am checking out. I wonder what happens if you win the "avoid the sweep" game before the series is over?

Sadly, I think it’s worse than that. Cashman has managed to build a deep team and has constructed a pen with multiple closer quality members. Betances goes out and they barely flinch. Bob Klapisch’s recent book on the 2018 team details the MFY’s approach to scouting, development and other off field items that makes their success this year totally unsurprising to me.

DD, by contrast, lost Kimbrel and Kelly, and tried to get by with hope certificates. Sure, Kelly has sucked, but the point remains. The pen did well for the first chunk of the season but that they are sucking ass now is no surprise.

The Sox have not remotely approached Celts/Kyrie (and really just Kyrie) level hatefulness. To the contrary, the players and Cora remain very likable. Lovable even. But like the Cs, they seem to be good but not nearly good enough. Might they turn it around? Yes. But it’s not easy to imagine, at least for me.

The Bruins have been a magnificent salve. And much more. They’re an incredibly likable team and they’re damned good at hockey. But no matter what, June 12 is the night of the last game. There’s gonna be a lot of summer left until the next Pats game. Here’s to me being fantastically wrong about what that’s going to look like.

yea Porcello just looks washed up. I dont think anybody would wanna trade for him even if he did become available. What kind of deal would he get next offseason?

Miami (oh, Miami!)
People must be commuting or else they have totally given up on the Sox.
I'm actually close to writing off the season. Not in a numerical season-over sense, but in the sense that the team is a bit too volatile to really enjoy day-in, day -out watching. If they were playing well and just had bad luck and/or a tough schedule, that'd be one thing. But it's hard to make an effort to tune in to every game when half the time you end up throwing your hands in the air and exclaiming, "WTF was *that*."

Rick's ducking for the cover reaction everytime he knew he made a bad pitch is golden.

Man, in the brief instant they showed after that hit, Xander didn't look too good. I hope he's okay.
