Watching games this week, I can't help but wonder how we still have a better record than both the Astros and the Jays.
All I know is we're 10 games over on the road and only 3 games over at home. It mystifies me. The Jays are 2 over at home but they don't really have a home when you think about it.

HEY Bobby goes bridge!!!

You're good at looking all these fancy numbers up--did he struggle with fastballs in prior years? I don't remember this being a thing until now.
Going based off xWOBA he's struggled most of his career vs them with 2019 being an exception. He's actually been a bit unlucky this season vs them based on his actual numbers vs expected, but his swing and miss % vs them since last season is ~35% compared to ~27% from 2017-2019. So when he makes contact, this season at least, he has a decent xWOBA of .337. He's just struggling to make contact on them since last season. And it's becoming more and more evident as he's starting to see more fastballs than ever before (68% this season, up from 61% last season which was a career high).

Thanks for this. It literally would have taken me a week to dig this up.

I really hope we're not buyers at the deadline. The E-Rod, Eovaldi, Richards, Pivetta rotation will take us no where fun, ultimately.

Could try Richards for another inning, but he's still not throwing that good, and the top of the lineup has murdered him.

They need to IL Sawamura if his hip is still an issue after tonight

I thought he was cleared to go? Could've sworn I saw that earlier

At some point, you need a starter to get you into the sixth. There's a high probability that it blows up in their face, but I think I send Richards out for the sixth, at least to start.

Stripling only thrown 59 pitches. Amazing.
We're the only team that seems to always swing at the first pitch.

It was novel when only Nomar did it...but now you have pitchers going deep into games while the other team gets to our bullpen in the 5th or 6th every night.
