I like ours. (Well, I like Verdugo just fine, and Enrique? He tries hard... I got to see J. Downs play in Worcester last Saturday, and he's shorter than I thought he'd be. Connor Wong didn't play so I had to watch the miserable Jett Bandy do his thing. Who names their kid Jett?)

But theirs? Ross Stripling? Seriously? Ryu is a bitch, and I hope we miss him. Anyway....

We otter talk about birthdays. Today is the 25th birthday of our own phenom Garrett Whitlock. It's also the 33rd trip around the sun for everyone's binky BROCKHOLT.

In addition, it's the 142nd birthday of Hall-of-famer Roger Bresnahan, who until I looked him up, I knew nothing about. Seemed like a real peach.

So tonight: For them no George Springer, no Cavan Biggio. For us, Sawamura hurts somewhere. I hope he gets better quickly.

That's bad news. AND I HATE BAD NEWS!
I have been so tense today I actually drank a glass of sherry. Oh, my.

Geaux, Sox! Winning is so much more fun than losing.

X spun awkwardly on a throw from the outfield and knelt there for a minute yesterday. I thought he might have tweaked something at the time.

How are they going to stop people from putting their hair product on the ball? Richards runs his fingers through his hair after every at-bat.

Why does Dave continue to obsess about a guy's numbers against another team? Why can't someone tell him it doesn't mean shit?

How the heck did Richards get out of that inning with just one run?
a) Clutch, clutch pitching under pressure
b) Blind luck
c) Both

Swinging through a meatball and chasing one a foot away. Why does he keep hitting first?

It's bizarre how Devers struggles so badly vs fastballs. 3-0 count, knows it's coming, right down the middle and he misses it badly.

JD is an outstanding hitter but he puts up some seriously what the fuck at bats.

if Richard does 5IP 3R that should be decent. Strippling is not good, crush him

That loud exploding sound is the Red Sox rotation crashing back down to earth.

Sunday: Richards, 5 IP, 3 runs
Monday: Pivetta, 4.2 IP, 2 runs
Tuesday: Perez: 2 IP, 6 runs
Wednesday: Eovaldi, 5.2 IP, 5 runs
Thursday: Eduardo, 4.2 IP, 6 runs
Friday so far: Richards, 2 IP, 3 runs

Combined: 24 IP, 25 runs allowed.

They're also facing the best two offenses in the AL.... they'll be ok.

I guess that doesn't excuse the Sunday/Monday starts though, eh?
