Tanaka with a quick first inning, highlighted by a diving catch from Gardner on the leadoff hitter. It’s a triple if it gets past him.

Still nursing Torres’s shoulder. The kid has dropped 15 points in the last week so the injury is impacting his offense.

Didi looks a lot better at the plate than in the field so far, I wonder when the last time he had two hits to left field in the same game was.

Gio reminds me Scott Brosius a bit. Yanks lucked into Brosius after he hit .203 in 1997. But he had been in the big leagues for six years and hit .300 in 1996. Gio is younger and less experienced, with more upside at the plate. Gio never had enough ABs to full project his potential. His power is the latest revelation for me.
