I came to post in the game thread that I'd be in the house today and every sox game I've been to has a HR for a Sox player.

But there was no game thread. So let's get it together SoSH. How else am I supposed to entertain myself at work today?

I've not had a game thread in probably 10+ years, let's break out the old school mojo.

Monday’s off day meant poems were a no-go.
We’re back tonight with some Old School Mojo.
It seems the theme kinda fits in a way:
The Braves played in Boston “back in the day.”
The film and the Sox share similar traits:
big fun to watch though not one of the greats.
We lack huge stars like Leo or Meryl,
but we’re cool as Wilson, fun as Ferrell,
pesky as Piven, and as tough as Vaughn,
and just like a frat, as the year goes on,
we’ll bond and we’ll streak, give weird things a whirl,
make noise, get in fights, and probably hurl.
I’ll rush tonight: pledge to watch two big games,
hoping Atlanta will go up in flames.
As the Red Sox invade just like Sherman,
the Celtics return home to determine
whether or not they can win in crunch time.
I started stressing way before lunchtime.
Let's bring our red cups tonight as we post
and cheer on 2 wins with an Old School toast.

Well, ten years ago the Sox had a pretty good team, iirc.
So, GEAUX, SOX.

Something about the Braves I've always hated since the 90's. Not any good reason. Just....... that fucking logo mostly.

I remember a few years ago I went to Fenway to watch them play the Braves. I got the ticket scalped and wound up sitting next to a row of Braves fans who had sold off an extra.

By the fourth inning someone had called the paramedics because they were so quiet watching the game everyone thought they had died.

I was a pretty big fan back in the 80's when they were on the SuperStation TBS on our cable. I worked at nights and the games were on in the day here so I watched a LOT of Braves games! And then a good friend ended up pitching for the Braves in '95 when they won the World Series so I kinda am still a Braves fan.

That being said; crush them. And fuck that tomahawk chop thing.

This is phenomenal. I am humbled that in some small way I could help inspire this work of art. I will admit I was looking for a "Bed Bath And Beyond" line. I just figure you didn't have enough time.

Checking in from just to the OF side of the Sox dugout. Tarp currently on the field. Light sprinkles. Rain chance is 50% per my app but 100% chance of a Sox victory. Chisel that in stone.

Just left Dicks Sporting goods. Picked up some Grape Big League Chew. I forgot how good this shit is. The first 2 minutes is an out of body experience. It’s kinda shitty gum after that but it’s like I’m 13 years old again.

Unfortunately the next several minutes are disappointing.

“Scalping”….. especially considering the logo of the opponents…. Is probably not preferable….

The crowd is probably 40% Sox fans tonight. Even with the Braves as good as they are. I’ve seen jerseys for everyone from Xander to Verdugo
