Philly is a rabid sports town. Unfortunately for them, they have to go up against Boston teams often. It seldom ends well for them. Corey Kluber toes the slab for the Sox tonight, trying to build upon his 5.1-inning 3-run 7K effort in a win against Toronto. Philly has decided to Falter. Advantage: Boston

In lieu of serving up another tasty slab of Philly soul, I've instead decided to link this hilarious but extremely NSFW clip of Bill Burr shredding the city of Philadelphia. Enjoy!

Especially on such a gorgeous spring day. It’s literally perfect out there today for a baseball game.
Yes, but it's even more gorgeous for working and playing outside yourself. But when a bear tears down not only the hummingbird feeder but breaks off the wrought-iron hanger it was on, new outdoor chores pop up. Have now spent about an hour looking for something that fits into square-head screws to remove the remains of the broken hanger.
On second thought, I'd rather be watching the Sox.

I have no witty comeback where bears are involved. Hope you can fix it!

Game 35
My son graduated college last night.
There to support him, it didn’t feel right
to peek at my phone as they called out names.
I had to skip out of both Boston games.
Missing each pitch, at-bat, and possession,
I behaved and I watched the procession,
then after the hugs and the photo opps,
drove all the way home without any stops,
avoiding all spoilers along the way,
to watch both together on tape delay.
With Sling DVR and MLB app
I got to see Harden shooting like crap,
while vintage Chris Sale was mowing pricks down,
as the Celts were led by Tatum and Brown,
while a Phillie's fan fell into the pen,
as the Celtics gelled like a team again,
while the Red Sox showed they can’t be slept on,
and poor Grant Williams' face got stepped on.
I wrapped up the games after 2 a.m.
It was a long day, but it was a gem.
The Sox have a streak. The Celts took the lead.
My son makes me proud. That’s all that I need.

Great job once again, and congrats!

And go Sox, get a Kluber!

This intrigues me. How do you know it was a bear?

Being outside and having the game on the radio is my kind of day.

I don't. But what other animal both loves sweet and has the strength to break in half a heavy cast-iron hanger? Also, whoever "visited" crushed the ferns and daylilies below the feeder. Some heavy critter.
That could have been any number of SoSHers

I wonder if he has some discomfort from being hit in the calf last night. Otherwise, it seems odd, given that he has a 15-game hit streak going. I guess the streak can resume when he plays next?
That’s what I figured. Might be good to let the swelling subside a little. All of the outfielders are hitting well, so there’s no reason not to give Refsnyder a day against a lefty.

Only distraction-free game of this whole series. Watch it be all but effectively over one way or the other after four innings or so.

For better or worse... with the Sox pitching and hitting... it's rarely ever over after 4 innings no matter what the score.

I just can't tell if the game is going to show up on the MLB app or not.
