Some excellent hustle to score on that and a beautiful AB by Vaz to knock him in.

Ottavino should probably stop coming into games to hold a 1- to 3-run lead in the 7th or later.

Nice work, Otto. I’d still be much happier if you could do the swingy missy thing before doing the walky walky thing.

I don't know, I think an inning when up 6 is a pretty sheltered appearance and an appropriate time to use him.
That’s the thing—he has pitched with a lead three times this season and shat the bed in two of them. A guy you can’t trust with any lead is a guy who shouldn’t be out there.

If he can't pitch with a 6 run lead, then he probably shouldn't be on the team. And maybe that's your conclusion as well

Agree to disagree. Shit defense, shit pitching (Pivetta was ok, not great) against an awful team.

Just trying to survive. A win is a win if you can get it, but not an amazing effort by any means.
There is a lot of room between absolutely brutal and amazing effort. It's an old fashioned slugfest and the Sox are up 10-7. In my world, there are plenty of worse ways to spend a Tuesday night.

It is, though the 40 man isn’t exactly teeming with options right now depending on how they want to handle Houck. Bazardo is promising, and they just picked up another righty off waivers. I do trust that Chaim will not rest with poor options, even if it means some aggressive roster churn.
