Caveat this with "I don't actually think the refs are actively trying to screw the Bruins", but I agree. It's been really hard to watch. It's been this way for years for the Bruins, just magnified in these last two series (wasn't really an issue against Ottawa last year, I don't think, because the Bruins were pretty ineffective in that series anyway). The Bruins generally don't dive, or try to sell calls, they fight through trips and hooks instead of going down, and I think it shows in the discrepancy in penalties for/against over the last few years. It is part of the reason I love them so much, but it certainly bites them in the ass quite a bit.
Yeah I (and all of us) have been pretty consistent in saying all we want is consistency. If you’re gonna let stuff go, let it go. If not, then don’t. But it changes from play to play. The faceoff bullshit. It’s tedious as fuck.

It's unforgivable they lost that. Shouldn't have gone to OT if the officials called a remotely balanced game and a missed offside leads to the winner

The officiating should never be the story in the playoffs. What a shitbag league

What really sucks is this could be a really good series if the game was called fairly.

Donato was fine tonight. Gionta was garbage. Refs weren’t good. McAvoy meh.

Once Tampa withstood the 3 minute onslaught at the start of OT, you knew what was coming.

What a shame. The problem is that games like this dont stick to the league or the refs. Theres only a handful of games from all major sports combined where people look back and remember the refs screwing the game. GB hail mary, Kings/Lakers, etc.

The problem is that officiating like this is a dime a dozen. By next years playoffs, nobody will remember this shit. And its too bad, because the league could be so much more fun with more even officiating. But it jist aint gonna happen.

Good season.
