Tell us again how the defensive minded Islanders are comfortable getting their asses kicked 5-2!

So, I don't post often in Bruins threads, love them though I do. No "water" here?

Aside from the first 5 minutes, this was a dominant performance that wasn’t even as close as the 5-2 score. Bring it again Monday and put them in a deep fucking hole.

Felt like the Bruins should have had 3 more goals at least with how much they outplayed The Islanders

A dominating win. Islanders had no answer for Bruins top two lines. Bergeron line out-chanced NYI 23-6 & Krejci line out-chanced them 17-7.

Great, dominant win. Glad they finished strong, didn’t want a cheapie causing stress in the 3rd.

On another note, the sheer agony and defeatism on the Maple Leafs FB page in the comments section is delicious. It did give me an ounce, just an ounce, of PTSD to 2003 though. . . . .

Was thinking the same thing. What from that game made you think this will be a long series. Not saying they won’t win a game or 2, but the B’s looked like the far superior team.
A six game series probably would qualify as a long series though. :)

edit: seemed to me that the Bruins were flying tonite and looked like the far superior team... the two Islander goals seemed like they were against the run of play and there wasn't may high pressure chances other than that.

Felt like they consistently had more space to operate tonight than at any point in the Caps series. Isles really had no answer once the Bruins got set up in the offensive zone.

Definitely wasn't rooting for them, it was just nice knowing that either result would cause one of those fan bases to flip out. And now they need to do the quick turnaround and play tomorrow.
Schedule I'm seeing is Monday.

I didn't get to watch tonight, but those numbers above are absolutely dominant.

Great showing tonight. Play that way and this goes no more than 5. Fingers crossed for C Smith.

Went back and saw the breakdown of Hall's net drive on the Pasta hat trick goal. Holy fuck he has elevated this team to another level by taking defenders and enabling those around him.

One thing that jumped out so far between this series and last is the lack of scrums around the net post whistle. The hooking call on Ritchie was pretty soft, but overall the refs were a non-factor and hopefully that remains true the rest of the way.

It’s nice to play a team that isn’t looking to leave their skates to check high at every opportunity as well. Caps are a bunch of cheap shot artists that force teams to keep their heads on a swivel.

Bruins were allowed to skate tonite and they just looked fast.

Bergerons line came out of nearly every board battle with the puck, completed nearly every pass, kept nearly every clearing attempt in the ozone, stopped nearly every play in the dzone and turned nearly every offensive opening into a scoring opportunity. I suspect the numbers can say otherwise, but considering the time of year and strength of opponent, I don't think I've ever seen them so dominant.

I know it’s just one game but this was refreshing

Game day, and I get to watch from my own house again.
Let’s do this.
