Tonight NY tries to win their 9th consecutive series for the first time since the great 1998 team. They send out possibly their only actual SP of the series in Masahiro Tanaka, who has a 1.42 ERA in his last four starts combined, 4 ERs allowed in 25.1 innings. SD counters with 23 year old lefty Eric Lauer, who has been up and down but who held ARI to 1 run in 7 innings last time out.

6:30 start before another 1 PM start on Wednesday.

I never really understood why we gave Yankee fans a place to gamethread on a Red Sox message board. Always seemed weird to me.

I appreciate the Yankees gamethreads and the Yankee fan members. Being a Red Sox fan means following two teams, and the Yankee fans here help keep me up-to-date, especially with all the injuries this year.

Agreed. Plus the vast majority of members here who are Yankee fans are nice people. I actually almost feel bad for them when the Yankees lose (Which hasn't been NEARLY enough lately!)

A number of the Yankee fans posting here are craft beer guys. This is just a clever way to suck them into the craft beer thread.

Maybe a better question would have been, “why do Yankee fans want to be here”?
Because Yankee boards suck? I think the average age of nyyfans posters is about 80, and the average IQ seems to be around half that.

"With 17 home runs in 37 games, Gary Sanchez ties Mickey Mantle (1956) for the most HR by a Yankee in his first 37 games of a season"

I want to punch him in the face. Stop trying to get the umpires to call the game you dickhead

Boone and Clint escape, I don't get why if you have four great relievers, you have to either use all of them or none of them.

Cessa still in, Boone learning it's not easy to run a pitching staff with three starting pitchers.

I blame the J-pop girl group behind the plate distracting Tanaka in the 1st.

That’s the first nine inning game NY has lost in a long time, 12-2 in their previous 14 with two extra inning losses.

Red Sox blow the game against the Tribe in epic fashion. Maintaining my sense of humor with an AleSmith Speedway Stout. What a beautiful finish (the Speedway, that is). Red Sox and Yankees appear to be lagging the competition.

Serving Sam Adams at Yankee Stadium is an odd choice. Other Half Brewing would be nice. Oracle Park serves Pliny the Elder. Yankees need to step up.
