The Orioles have far more talent than we do, but they are also much more fundamentally sound as well, which shouldn't be the case every year, yet it keeps happening.
Swinging at a close pitch with the bases loaded is a new baseball innovation. The Sox should look into it.
The Orioles sucked for several years and took advantage by drafting excellent talent. Plus they know how to develop it. That may have to be the blueprint the Sox use, because they are going nowhere for the foreseeable future.
The tanking and drafting explains the talent but does NOT explain the vast difference in teachable fundamentals.
This is absolutely correct. They will be solid for the next five years or so barring any serious injuries. The Sox have some pretty good depth and will be good (hopefully) in that "foreseeable future".

I continue to think that if they get Casas back, trade for an upgrade to Criswell (Flaherty?), and get a better RHH (JD Martinez?) this team makes the playoffs.
I don’t believe in that old saw. It’s like, if my butcher gives me, and every other customer, 15 ounces of meat when a pound is requested, it doesn’t make it right. Get umpires that can see, or hasten the development of robot umps.

Lou's mentioned back to back day games a couple of times now like it's a thing. How is it any different that back to back night games?
Oooh that brings back bad memories. But yeah, new guy on the roster, fresh arm. He's gonna take this hit.
With Rodriguez and Burns scheduled to pitch the next two games for the Orioles, a sweep is likely. The only question is whether the Sox will even score a run in this series.
