Fly ball pitchers like Happ and Adams can look good in this park, but only if their outfielders actually catch the ball.
Gardner was blaming his second blunder on the twilight. Frazier seemed to confirm it as they both looked up at the lights, discussing what just happened. The ball landed about three feet from Clint.

It's hard to see how Morales will survive the hopeful roster crunch for too long, but it is worth noting he is probably at least a notch better defensively than Voit, that was a nice play.

Four innings to go if Thor allows them all, I think there is about an hour left before the skies open. This is my main issue with current Boone, the plan now will likely be four guys for an inning each (Holder/Kahnle/Britton/Chapman), whereas I would try to skip Britton and push Kahnle to at least 20 pitches. He is warm already, it makes no sense to me but what do I know.

Cone touched on it, but when Didi is back, NY can send out a defensive infield of Urshela/Didi/Gleyber/LeMahieu, which would have to be the best quartet in team history (right?). DJ hasn't played much (any?) 1B yet but I think he would quickly be great, and they have been talking about that as a possibility since they signed him, so I am sure he is prepared enough if needed.

Lowrie is still not close to playing, remember how many people mocked Cashman for choosing LeMahieu over him? Brian 1, Brodie 0.

Wow, nine pitch sixth from Holder, maybe they can get two from him.

Also, scoring more runs would be welcome again, thanks in advance.

As we say every night, just get it to the Romine/Maybin juggernaut this inning and they will do the rest.

Boyer-Kubek-Richardson-Skowron was very good. Nettles-Dent-Randolph-Chambliss pretty good. But yeah, I would go with this group once it happens.

Holder out, Kahnle in. NY/Boone treat a 9 pitch inning the same as a 19 pitch inning, I don't always like it, but maybe they can get two from Kahnle and score some more and not use four guys for four innings. They have another game at 2 PM EST tomorrow, then a day game in NY on Memorial Day against the Padres.

Is there anything DJ cannot do, any play he cannot make? A 6-foot-4 infielder with great body control. I could watch this infield all day. In fact, I think I just did.

What a pitch by Britton to get Dozier at 3-2, dotting the high and away corner at 95.

Whew, brilliant strategy by Chapman once he walked Hamilton to just put him on third, that way he wouldn't have to pay attention to him. :)

Amazing catch by Maybin who had to catch the ball and not get killed by a crosschecking Gleyber at the same time, totally butchered call by John Flaherty who should never do play by play again after today's performance.

the roles of our teams have definitely reversed from last year, to date. 4 months to go to see if that holds up.

Chance Adams with a win and a save in his only two appearances so far this year, presumably rewarded with another trip back to Scranton.

With the current and projected infield defense, Keuchel becomes a much more tantalizing option, particularly after the draft. (With Andujar and without DJ I would've said no way. Keuchel is an extreme ground ball pitcher.) I've read he's looking for a prorated 1 year/$20 million. Can't have too much pitching, right?

It’s going to be interesting where Kimbrel and Keuchel land after the draft certainly. If Paxton and CC are both back and no one else goes out, Adams is looking like an OK #6 until Severino and/or Montgomery are back. How many of those 8 is Keuchel better then? I guess it depends how much you think he has slipped, we see the consensus around MLB on that so far.
