JB obviously can’t take that foul, but someone really should’ve been prepared to foul Siakam. Still, +8 for the quarter. Entering the half with a lead is a good place to be.

Overall solid quarter but a brutal last two minutes defensively. Would have looked better if Hauser or White hit one of those wide open 3s, really need to bury these open looks.

Being up only 6 after starting the quarter 17-0 feels like losing. Pascal Siakim blows, stop letting this asshole score at will.

Thats the worst effort and D from Tatum I think I have ever seen, forget the shooting.
Bingo. It sucks he’s not making open shots but that’s the game. The lazy passes and the indifference on defense is alarming

If Tatum, White, Kornet, Hauser and Porzingis actually showed up today, we’d be up 30

For all quarter the Celtics were collapsing in the defensive paint and the Pacers couldn't do anything down there. Yes, the Celtics were giving up the kick out for 3, but for as sexy as threes are, that's not why the Pacers are keeping up. It's their crazy good two point shooting. When the Celtics took that away, they were dominating. The Pacers are going to make some threes, but they won't make as many twos and when they miss the threes they aren't getting a sniff of the rebound.

As soon as the Celtics went away from that after the last time out, the Pacers feasted again inside the arc.

It's the Pacers' two point shooting that is killing the Celtics. Just fucking shut that down and things will be fine.

Celts shot 44%, 33% from 3 (and only 1 more hit than Ind). Still up 5, that's the good news.

Tatum and Hauser haven't shown, Kornet is hurt as the bad news.

Indiana didn't shoot poorly - 51%. If we can keep winning the boards and turnovers (that one feels uncertain) this is still going to turn out ok.

Shame to give away a quality lead last 4 min of half though

White and Tatum have both completely stunk.

I am not sure if I am happy that they are up by 6 or upset they aren’t up by 15
Jrue and Brown had an amazing half. They carried the team. Al was solid too.

Tatum and White have been brutal this game at both ends of the floor. I’ll go glass half full and say we’re happy to be up 6 with them playing like that. If they take their heads out of their asses, they should blow them out in the second half.

Tatum's insistence on playing offense at a ponderous plodding pace against a team that gets cooked by up tempo play is bizarre.

Not only did Tatum suck on offense but was completely out to lunch on the defensive end on multiple occasions. Think the fact that his shooting has been meh is effecting him everywhere.

Luckily Brown was a monster

After the FT, they should have Hauser in position to foul, and not defending the deep corner. He is useless if he can’t hit threes. I’d rather have Brissett’s high energy,

Obviously Jaylen is having an excellent game but Jrue is really holding down the fort being the #2 with Tatum looking like he took a few Ambien before the game. Can’t say enough how important he is as a safety valve when one of the Jays is struggling.

Hope Tatum "wakes up" in the second half. He is brutal right now.

JJ and Doris openly rooting for Indy is pretty annoying.

They also tried the Tatum at 5 late, and it generated the results the Celtics probably expected.

Here
The two in Cleveland are the only two really good games.
He was really good last game...

And generally played well against Miami outside Game 2. He took what the defense gave him and got the offense moving.

Myles Turner scoreless — big first half in G1, reallllllly quiet since. Defensive adjustments working.

But this feels like a “if Tatum wakes up, we win; he doesn’t, we lose” sort of game.

Indy’s let them shoot open threes strategy worked in the last minutes of the half.

Indy winning more end of quarters.

I really hope C's fans appreciate what Jrue is doing, it's special.

Hoping Tatum was doing some sort of walking rest thing so he can be fresh for the second half. Jaylen Brown is locking up that Larry Bird trophy early if we take the series.

tatum having a pretty subpar playoffs for his standards. has there been a real stellar tatum game yet?
I'm a Tatum apologist. His cumulative plus/ minus is pretty damn good. He's doing something right that exceeds his deficiencies.

If his 3-point shot comes back, watch out!

White hasn't been that bad to my untrained eye. He's missing shots that usually fall. But he's been high effort and played some very good defense. He also is responsible for like twice as many rebounds as he gets credit for.
