I agree about the need for ball handling but it’s really disappointing that Brogdon didn’t supply that this year. I thought we’d get a lot out of him as a complete player and by seasons end he had turned himself into an unathletic Ricky Davis

It will be about spacing and getting great looks. And maybe a line from The Town.
“We had great spacing and looks. The biggest issue was that we refused to be flexible on whose car was going to be taken.”

Boston did a great job on the defensive glass tonight. Miami hasn’t had an offensive rebound yet.

It's hard to believe that Gabe Vincent is a career 33.9% 3 point shooter. Or that Caleb Martin didn't get any All NBA votes this year..
Or that the Cs are down 30 and Butler has only scored 16...

What's everyone's obsession with blaming the players OR the coach? Here and on twitter.

It's pretty clear they both shit the bed in this series.

Honestly Joe has a much better excuse than the players. He has a terrible JV assistant coaching staff and it's his first season.

Tatum, Brown, Horford, Smart, etc all have A TON of experience. The way they have played is legitimately crazy bad, to the point you have to wonder if there is some unknown thing going on beneath the surface.

No coach, no matter how bad, can submarine an experienced team this much on his own. It's impossible.

Heat with another "top 1-2%th" outlier shooting performance, so it's something else (our D, they underperformed all season and it's regressing now, etc.)

So, look, why is Pritchard doing better tonight than game 1?

He has the ball in his hands, and is not on the floor with 2 other guards. He can do all right but not as part of a 3 guard lineup. Just to point out why he as a total zero a couple games back.

Not an original thought but there's something broken with the chemistry of this team. Every series goes longer then it should and now down 0-3 it's getting worse.

edit: and this has been the case for the last several years

It’s a 30 point game and the Heat don’t care. Pritchard wouldn’t do this if anyone was still actually trying

Nope. That Sox team was loaded with guys with heart. This team is loaded with gutless wonders.
we didn’t know they had heart until they came back from 0-3 down. But they did play well last couple months so it was a shock they were down 0-3. Celtics didn’t so hot in the last couple months of season

Yeah, I don’t agree. I like the guys on this team, they are obviously missing some thing in this series and season. But they’re not guys without Hart or guts. They’re just playing really badly.

I think the obvious move is to trade Smart. The Jays look to him to be the leader and that can’t happen any longer. This needs to be unquestionably Tatum’s team and that won’t happen until he is gone.
Trading Smart doesn’t fix their execution issues. At this point they should look at trading anyone but just Smart wouldn’t be enough imo

Because blaming the coach, who people have no connection to, and who is easily replaced with money doesn't make people confront the question of whether the core needs to be broken up, a core they have a strong connection to and have been wishing on for 6+ years
