He clearly moved his arm to hit him, and then looked back at the ref to see if he caught it. It's a bush league move.

On the bright side, the ejection probably helps the Celtics.
his arm was moving in a natural motion to fight a screen. Nurkics left leg was forward. Smart didnt bend his elbow forward. I dont think he even got his groin. He hit his high quad / inguinal crease. Nurkics butt is back. So the junk are pulled back and up

total bullshit call

He moved his arm because he knew Nurkic would move into him? And I'm sure he looked AFTER it happened because he knows where he hit him.
His arm went up on the other side. Dude knew what he was doing. He thought he had an opportunity to get away with one given how the contact was happening. Shitty move and cost the team.

This one's over. Leaving Melo open on the right wing is some serious brain lock.

No doubt that was a reputation ejection.

Intent was at best questionable, I don't think many other players get tossed immediately on that, it all happened simultaneously.

That long review ruined the flow of the game completely.

There was a significant follow through to it. He knew what he was doing.

Yeah, if you think that was anything but the right call you're kidding yourselves. He took a frustration shot at the guy because he lost his cool like Marcus does very often. That;s the right call and Marcus needs to stop being a fucking moron.

Edit- actually it probably should have been a tech no ejection, but when you have a lengthy rep you get ejected there, much like if it had been Draymond
What was he losing cool about? I’ve watched the replay a few times and I really can’t see how you could say it was intentional

Twice the officials completely stopped the Celtics’ momentum - the TT offensive goaltending and that long review. Great game totally fucked by refball.

How do you leave Melo THAT wide open.

If the Celtics lose this game, it’s because one team played the last minute of each quarter properly, and one didn’t

At the speed that play is happening it isn’t possible to plan to throw an arm into someone’s junk.
That’s why it’s such a bad call....I don’t doubt Marcus would, but no chance he did at real time speed.

I hate this team

so soft
I like this team a hell of a lot more than I did a week ago. Nesmith's play has been a revelation.

If Kemba returns Wednesday, and nobody else gets hurt between now and then, the C's might be at full strength for the first time this season.

guys bracing to run into screens dont generally throw their arms like that. how can we defend punching a man in the nuts here?
No, but you do swing your arm if you think you’re going to be throwing your arm out to fight around a screen

Those breakdowns add up, don't they? The C's still do way too much to beat themselves.
