Gerrit vs Collin. Names like that always stand out to me considering my entire family is basically Joseph, Anthony, Vinny, or John. My wife once asked me if I would ever want to name a son Liam and I laughed thinking of the reaction my Italian mother would have. But if he could throw like Gerrit, then hey...

Anyway...odds have NY as the favorite for tonight. I'd like to seal the series win and not wait for Jameson "Coming Together" Taillon

NY is only 4-3 in Cole starts so far, let's get him some more support in this one.

Have you had the first son is named after your father discussion with your wife yet?

Cole just got his 1498th career K, moving him into 220th on the career list. Who did he pass? Corey Kluber.

I keep saying this season reminds me of 1968 but I only saw games in September that year because Uncle Sam had other plans for me. So this must be what it was like. 0-0 every night.

A run! Judge singles, Gio doubles. Second and third, no out. Voit smashes a one-hopper to third. One out. Hicks sac fly. Gardner grounds out. 1-0 heading to bottom of seventh.

Footnote: Judge is running free and easy, went from first to third smoothly. We worry about this stuff, especially in this park.

94 pitches for Cole through 7, unclear if Chapman is available tonight (would be his 4th game in 5 days) and probably Loaisiga isn't, so maybe the plan/hope is Cole through 8 and Green in the 9th.

Cole at 94 after an easy 7th. Bottom of lineup due for Tampa in 8th. Chapman in dugout right now, having pitched 3 of last 4 nights. Nobody knows in the booth if he’s available. Now he’s walking to the pen.

Cash is managing his butt off tonight. Mix and match here in 8th with three righties due following a 1-out infield single by Wade.

It seems a lot of it is 'switch the pitcher when the lineup turns over'.

105 pitches for Cole through 8, might consider letting him try to finish it, but it'll probably be Green or Chapman.

Looks like it will be Chapman, let's get him another run or two.

Six pitches to Voit so far, none in the zone. Take the walk if he misses again!

That’s a helluva well-pitched game by the Rays. Juuuust about matched a gem from Cole. Has to be demoralizing to keep shutting teams down and have offense deliver nothing night after night.

Man, I wander what they could possibly do to help their offense.
