So we are streaking. There are all kinds of reasons why that should continue.

After scoring 26 runs in the last three contests (particularly after yesterday's game where it felt like every member of the lineup had great swings), the offense looks poised to go on a prolonged hot streak.

The pitching staff has been much better than expected. Not counting Garrett Dick's Easter Abomination, the Sox have a 2.78 ERA in 55 innings. Is that sustainable? Probably not. Is that encouraging? Indubitably.

But the best reason for this streak to continue? Good, old-fashioned revenge. We will be no friend of the Audubon Society. The plan is to rip every single Oriole out of the sky by way of Dalbec dingers, Martinez missiles and Christian (Vazquez and Arroyo preferably) crush jobs.

Keep it rolling on the road, boys.

Winning is fun! Beating the Orioles is not quite as much fun without the BS managing them, but it’s still fun. Let’s keep having fun.

Got it. But why have it on a Thursday instead of a Friday? I'm just not used to Friday off days, but maybe this is a new thing?
Well, if they had the home opener on a Friday, they'd have to have the off day (which is a hedge against the opener being canceled) on a Saturday.

I don't think it's random. Starting Saturday the Sox play 16 straight days. With the off day tomorrow, you can get him 2 days of rest, minus maybe a pinch hitting appearance. He's the only field player to start each game so far.

I took last year off from baseball. I think I watched 2 innings of the World Series and that was it. I do not know many of these guys well yet, I'm still sore about the outfield overhaul, and without X in the lineup it really feels weird. I want Mookie and JBJ back. I do like Franchy, and I am trying to get myself to like Verdugo, but I find Kike' to be annoying and I have always detested the sight of JDM in the outfield (although he's hitting well, so that's good).

You guys wait here while I chase these damn kids off my lawn.

Anyway, it's fun to be watching again. I'm not sure I realized how much I missed it until I started paying attention this week ( I missed the whole Baltimore sweep, which was kind of nice in retrospect) and it's been fun to watch the boys rake vs. TB and the pitching show up surprisingly well so far.

The sound of it, more than anything, has really gotten the dopamine flowing for me. The crack of the bat, the sound of a ball hitting the tin, DOB yelling about a home run. It's a cozy feeling.

It makes a big difference having just a few thousand people in the stands also. I'm filled with optimism. Let's take over first place in the AL East today!

Make up call, fair enough - especially after that awful 2-1 swing.

So because I bought the season package through youtubeTV instead of on mlb website, I am forced to listen to the hometown broadcast. I see no way to change it. Yuck.

Throwing a lot of 88-89 mph pitches up in the zone without movement, that's a tough way to live when the 4-seamer is just 92-93
