Anyone know if Tom Eshelman is related to Vaughn Eshelman?
I tried googling and found no evidence that he is related. Weird that a pitcher who is about the right age to be Vaughn Eshelman's son is has that kind of rare last name. Could he be a nephew or second cousin or something?

This thread is littered with familiar baseball surnames, some of whom are relations and some who are not:
Eshelman, Ivan Dejesus, Barfield, Luvullo, Matheny, Betts, Tovar, Castellanos.

Pawtucket's starting pitcher has the same exact name as Drew Pomeranz, so it must be the Red Sox pitcher's son, that's the only explanation. And they also have an outfielder with the same name as Rusney Castillo! Remember that guy with that name who signed that big contract? I wonder whatever happened to him?
