18 k's for Yankee hitters? Wow.
For the first time in my life, I did not watch much baseball during the opening week. Not sure why. Old age, maybe, but there is something about strikeouts and walks that makes the game boring to me after all these years.
The strikeout tendencies are turning me away from watching the Yankees. It’s just all so predictable. Sure, they will start hitting homers soon, in bunches, but the all or nothing approach is not exciting. I miss doubles and triples. Even singles! Such an underrated piece of action.
I bet Cone and especially O’Neill are confounded by the Yankees’ approach to hitting. Wish they analyzed it more.

For what it's worth, I see it somewhat similar to what's happened to the NBA, as it's become nothing but 3's, paint, and foul shots. It's the damn analytics, I tell ya.

18 Ks in a 9 inning game is a new franchise record. Congratulations?
