Neither of the pitches the ump just screwed us on this inning were within that "calibration" margin of error.

One walk should have been a strikeout. The other was him being almost certainly told to pitch around their most dangerous hitter. Would you have preferred? He tried to pitch to Jose Ramirez?

I get not liking Brasier and why. But the results of this inning weren’t his fault.
One walk could have been something other than a walk.

You think Brasier’s sitting in the dugout thinking this outing was fine?

I’m saying when you are out of the inning because you just threw a great pitch for strike three with no one on base, losing a little focus because of an egregiously bad call isn’t a high crime. Certainly not as high of a crime as what the ump just did – allowing a zero run, zero hit inning to turn into a four run inning.

I’m also saying that a lot of posters here just hate Brazier and would sooner route for Aaron Judge than give him the benefit of the doubt.

Ben May is going to be a name I remember. If the Sox find themselves in a big game late in the year with this guy behind the plate…

For what it’s worth, I probably lasted longer in the Brasier Appreciation Society than most of the people you’re talking about.

Yeah I’m not necessarily including you.

Again, I get it. Brasier has been a long time underperformer. But the ump was the bigger villain here.

Let’s go Wong!

All of them are. It's like they conspired in the offseason and collectively decided to just completely suck all year.
This is just not true. We are in the midst of a new golden age in umpiring. We had an umpire perfect game last year in the playoffs! A few guys have come close several times this year.
