I'm just going to throw this up there now for tomorrow.

We should be happy. The kids are exceeding expectations, starting pitching has been pretty good, and the while the bullpen has been a little rough at times, we know the talent is there.

So let's keep it going. Two more lefties on the mound and obviously the Yankees are very right handed. So that's good. Happ has shown some improvement over his last two starts and is trending in the right direction. Please build on that.

Time for Mr. Happ to get his first win of the season.

Got home just in time to see that run score, DJ steal a base, and Voit get pissed about balls and strikes. I take it Happ looks OK so far?

Voit makes a nice play to get the lead runner at 2nd on a bunt. Not sure that was wise, but it worked.

Urshela with his third hit of the day, a liner off the fence in right. He should pee in a cup one of these days.

This team is so much more fun than the regular lineup. If Machado had signed with the Yankees, increased payroll and more hatred of pinstripes would have developed. Btw, Machado has 10 RBI and is hitting .244.

With Machado, there is no Urshela, no DJ LeMahieu.

Easy to forget just how young he is, but that was a very dumb play all around by Gleyber.

Meanwhile Urshela has no options left, so NY is going to need to keep him on the roster or risk losing him. You might remember I suggested putting him at 3B to start the season, Andujar at DH and LeMahieu moving around, but that is trickier if both Stanton and Frazier are healthy.

The pitching staff will go on strike if Urshela is traded.

What is going to happen in July when Stanton finally realizes he is healthy? Frazier back to minors?

I hope the quants do an analysis of how much good infield defense helps the pitching staff.
A good reporter could do it quicker by asking several pitchers how they like Urshela’s defense.

This is 5 out of 7 days Chapman has pitched, that is too much. He will get tomorrow and Monday off at least.

A little bit of a letdown with Cessa and some sloppy baserunning there at the end, but a lot more good than bad today.

Really glad to see Happ continuing to improve on his slow start. He was great.

how long is judge and sevio out july?
Cashman said July for Severino again this weekend, they are not talking about a return timetable for Judge because of how annoying it got last season when it ended up being longer than they expected.

The rotation could not be much better at this moment, German is the one filling in for Severino and has been a top 5 MLB pitcher so far. They were comfortable enough here (Loaisiga the 6th guy and David Hale looking strong in AAA plus others) to let Gio Gonzalez go last week (starting against the Mets tomorrow for MIL).

Also Jordan Montgomery is still supposedly on track for August if needed, he has been throwing in Tampa for a while already.

The current 5 is as strong overall as I can remember for NY for a while, if they can manage German's innings and have Severino join that, those two and Paxton and Tanaka is the best top four they have had since I think 2003 (Mussina/Wells/Clemens/Pettitte, all over 200 innings).

Betances is the guy they miss, he makes Ottavino and Kahnle (4 hits allowed in 11 appearances so far, all in the same game) the pre-7th inning more freelance guys. Yes, that is Kahnle/Ottavino/Britton/Betances/Chapman as the back five.

7 HRs in 52 ABs for Sanchez now, .964 OPS with just four singles, a double and four walks.
