Portland loses in rainy Hartford, 3-0 in six.

Boxscore

Mike Shawaryn faced the minimum through five innings, with only a Sam Hilliard single in the fifth breaking up perfection. Hilliard was later caught stealing. Shawaryn struck out seven. In the bottom of the sixth, it all fell apart as, presumably, the rain came down harder. Shawaryn gave up three consecutive singles to start the inning (including a bunt single), then committed an error on a sacrifice bunt. The final batter of the game also reached via error – this time on first baseman Josh Ockimey. After giving up three runs (two earned) in the sixth... with no outs yet to be recorded, the game was put into a rain delay which never ended.

Cole Sturgeon, Luke Tendler, and Austin Rei each reached with a hit in two sessions, Rei with a double. Jeremy Rivera walked once in three jaunts. Josh Ockimey, Nick Lovullo, Conrad Gregor, and Danny Mars each went hitless in two at-bats. Josh Tobias was unable to reach in three trips.
