Game 23
Not much to say about Saturday’s game.
We lost 5 to 4 with no one to blame.
No goats, ne’er-do-wells, bums or wrong-doers.
Just a tough fight we dropped to the Brewers.
We knocked out 8 hits, played errorless D,
battled bad luck with B A B I P,
hit two two-run shots, but came up just short.
Baseball’s a maddening magical sport.
Sometimes the good games still end with defeats,
so, we tip our cap and lace up our cleats,
take our positions and step in the box,
and honor the name: The Boston Red Sox.

I wasn’t able to watch with audio yesterday, my dad was asking me and I didn’t know - was it Lou or WMB in the booth? Thanks.

Sounds to me like
I think Cora got caught by the reporter asking who the emergency catcher was because they were sans such a thing. So he quickly appoints the tallest non-pitcher on the team, the 6'4 Casas. Lord help us if he ever has to catch. At least he's right handed though.

Ah, no. Cora asked players in the clubhouse this morning and Casas said he caught when he was younger.

This Sox lineup is a grind. Almost everyone will work the count on you.

Good at bats against a good pitcher. wonder what that inning looks like if raffy doesn’t get hosed

Bello's sinker is good enough that if he keeps it down and throws it for strikes, there's not much anyone can do.

Bello needs to be more aggressive and throw strikes. Trust that the pitches you are throwing are good enough to get guys out. 30 pitch innings are not a great plan.

I think Bello can put the changeup away for now. he's got no control over it so far

To be fair, Bello wasn't squeezed, really, he just didn't get the calls the other pitcher got. Inconsistency is bad too, of course.

Anyway, if he just throws sinkers and sliders for strikes the rest of the way he'll probably go 5 IP no ER

With how egregious the 1-2 to Raffy was, there’s no excuse not to give Bello the 1-2 to Tellez
