This is the fourth series in a row that the Red Sox are facing a team that's in first place. (The Angels were in first at the start of that series until Boston beat them 3 times.)
The supposed "easy" April schedule isn't looking so easy right now. Baltimore and Pittsburgh were supposed to be easy teams to beat according to some, but they are a combined 24-14 and both would be in the postseason if it started today. (It doesn't!)
Tampa is running over the entire league like they were some sort of Boston Bruins or something, and of course we had to play them 4 times in the mausoleum when they were at their best.
The Sox are 10-6 against non-Tampa teams.

The only teams with losing records that we've faced so far: the Angels have a winning record in non-Red Sox games. The Tigers are 7-7 when not playing the Red Sox.

The Brewers are 14-5 and have won 4 straight. We've got Uncle Nick Pivetta going against Freddy Peralta and the Wallbangers. Might be a tough night.

The schedule has not been easy and it looks like it's staying tough for a while-- at Milwaukee (14-5) at Baltimore (11-7) home against Cleveland (10-9) and Toronto (11-8) at Philly (bad so far, won the pennant last year) and Atlanta (14-5) then home against St.L. and Seattle (both bad so far, both playoff teams last year) then a West Coast trip.
For the next 4 series (13 games) we'll be facing teams that are 46-29. Gonna need some folks to get hot and stay hot to be in a decent spot before the west coast trip.

Game 21
Back to .500! Our batters got hot,
delivering hits from each lineup spot.
Yoshida(!) and Alex both rapped out 2,
3 hits from Kike, a homerun by Yu,
Turner, Duran, Devers, Casas, and Wong!
A pinch-hitting Christian even looked strong.
Lots of runs with our offensive attack,
then an offensive Tilt gave a bunch back.
With the shoe-in win suddenly in doubt,
a baserunning blunder bailed the Sox out.
Let’s take momentum on to Milwaukee.
Big night for Boston: Baseball! Hoops! Hockey!
A trio! A threesome! A trinity!
Whatever you call it. Let’s win all 3.

I looked ahead a few weeks and was shocked at how brutal the schedule is going to be into May. To be 10-10 so far, especially with how some guys have been hurt or struggling, bodes well for the future of this team in my estimation. If we can just keep the ship afloat through this stretch I think we can be in for a fun ride when things soften up and reinforcements arrive.

I agree. If we can go 7-6 over the next 4 series, that would be great, even though if we did, the season record would only be one game over .500 and we'd probably still be in last place in the division.
If we can be .500 or so after the Philly-Atlanta road trip, that would put us in a decent position going forward with Story, Duvall, Mondesi that much closer to coming back and presumably knowing more about how guys like Bello, Kluber, Sale, Whitlock, and Houck are looking.

I guess it isn’t named Miller Park anymore. Do you know it’s name?

American Family Field

How absurd.

Brew Crew is in first place. If we win we are above .500. Why not?
Ugh. I guess that's just an insurance company but they can still fuck off with that obsequious bullshit.

Team's pretty good though. Also how weird is it that there's no NHL team in Wisconsin?

Which one of you is heckling Casas? Same guy yelling "we want Hosmer" shouted "catch the ball for crying out loud" at him over the foul ball.
