If a team averages under 7k fans a game in the first week of the season, MLB should reserve the right to change any game to primetime for the road team’s audience/timezone.

The Oakland diehards, god help them, will find a way to leave work early if they are that desperate to watch this sorry excuse for a franchise.

Honestly As fans should be THRILLED this team is leaving. Maybe when they get an expansion team in 5-10 years it won't look like... THIS thing

Did anyone else see this article about the A's punishing their players for wearing anti-Fisher bracelets? Such a sad end to the Oakland pro sports scene. I used to love going to see the Sox play at the Colosseum, even if they did go something like 2-11 in the games I went to. Raiders games were an absolute blast. Loved those Raiders fans, just an awesome atmosphere even when the team was terrible. During the Jamarcus Russell years we'd get $45 nosebleed seats near the 50 yard line that included $15 food vouchers. My buddy was messing around one time when we were in the seats above the Black Hole and a chunk of Colosseum concrete broke off in his hand. I'm gonna miss that place.

A's fans were pretty good, too, the few times I got to go out there.

It's a good franchise, and watching Fisher do what he has done with it is a god damned travesty to the entire sporting culture. I wish MLB would force him out and the rest of the leagues would blackball him from ever owning another franchise. He is despicable.

The cradle of the game.
A's are a dumpster fire - they just sent one of the top reasons a fan would show up, Esteury Ruiz, down to AAA. He was 3 for 7 this season with a 1,232 OPS. Something about a wristband they didn't like. Bleday and Langeliers need to get out of there before their careers get sucked down into the vortex.

My first TV baseball memories (with decent reception) were of the ‘72 World Series. Those incredible uniforms, the mustaches and the weird ballpark. I’m sure Gene Tenace mashing one to the concrete steps over LF wasn’t the first baseball I ever watched, but it’s still stuck in my head.

It sucks that baseball in Oakland has to go out like this.

I saw the thing about the wristbands, but the Ruiz situation seems like textbook service time manipulation

Gonna make a prediction. If we’re still in the race come the deadline and Wood is still on the A’s, we’re gonna trade for him.
