How much longer is his leash? He’s old and has shown absolutely nothing. I know it’s still April but he can’t find the zone with any sort of consistency and when he has to go after guys because he keeps falling behind, he gets smoked.

Maybe he swaps places with Kutter? Their 40-man issues makes it difficult to use a phantom DL stint. Can’t imagine they’d want to DFA a free agent signing a month into the season.

Stating the obvious, but some of Bloom’s mlb roster decisions are hard to defend.

Why not just bring back Rich Hill who loves being a Red Sox, is still moderately effective and may be a good mentor to younger guys on the staff?!

I don’t disagree but Hill has been awful too. 7 homers in 21 innings

Rogers Park
Eovaldi 5.40 ERA
Wacha 6.06 ERA
Hill 5.57 ERA

Kluber's having a rough start, no question. But I'm not sure any of those guys would really have been the right answer.

edit: Although Eovaldi's FIP is good, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd take Nate any day over Kluber regardless of how he has started. And Kluber is now at 9.18 ERA.

I'm absolutely getting "Smoltz for the Sox in 2009" vibes from Kluber here, except that Kluber was never anywhere close to as good as Smoltz.

He was very very good just 6 years ago
He had 4 top-3 CYA finishes in a 5 year period

But he’s a corpse now
