The guy that caught that should get the ball authenticated at the park. If Devers ends up a HOF or something one day he can auction off HR #144.

I know the answer is "pitching and defense" but am I the only one that doesn't understand why the Rays are consistently good and why no other team can replicate it in the same way?

At least we have a real first baseman this year! Granted we now have whatever Bobby is playing SS, Bloom can’t quit him!
Our "real" first baseman is hitting .147. Big left handed hitter, unfortunately the only big left handed hitter from the past I can think of that he's emulating is Tony Clark.

First pitch was 93 middle middle. Glad he swung at least but can’t keep missing shit like that.

What's a little worrisome about Casas is that his prospect status is based on a lot of projection and not so much production. He was certainly good in the minors, but not really "this guy needs to be moved up a level" good.

I'm not saying he's Lars Anderson... yet.

We’ve already failed the Dalbec experiment again, not only playing him at shortstop but giving him relevant at bats against RHP. He’s not going to suddenly figure out how to hit RHP, sorry to say. Full commitment to making outs running him out there.

Words really can’t express just how done with Bobby Dalbec I am. I can’t keep watching him play. I truly, truly can’t stand watching him. It’s Julio Lugo levels of revulsion at this point.

Sadly, it’s all about the roster. Who else could they have called up, Duran? Hamilton? Not many options. Think they should have cut bait on Dalbec and Duran, but the org seems hesitant, desperately clinging on to guys like that and Ort because…reasons?

Presumably the alternatives are not better, merely different. I agree. They don’t have many options.

Really amazing that Fairbanks has put together an MLB career after being born without eyelids.
