Boy, if anything looks like a scheduled loss, taking on the Caps after a game yesterday with the defense completely devastated and no Rask or Halak in net sure fits the bill. Would love to be proven wrong.

Can we at least get through a game without another significant injury? *stares at Tom Wilson*

I don’t understand. There was a guy in white on one side of the ice. And then he was on the other side of the ice. and then he came back to the first side again. And the puck did this thing where it went sideways without going slowly back to someone at the blue line. And there were multiple shots.
Are those things allowed?

What happened to their PP?

It was such a weapon last year. Is it really all Krug?
They’re stationary and they refuse to go cross seam and their point men are slow to shoot so everything is blocked or “intentionally” wide

“Gets triple teamed - Kampfer, Krejci, and Ritchie” and still wins the puck leading to a pp.
I’m as down on this team as I have been for a long time.

As am I. The way I see it, they have two young guys that can actually play. Everyone else is either old or not any good. I really don’t know what they see in the guys they draft, and it’s obvious that other teams can’t see it either, because none of them have any trade value.

The forwards have been no help all game. I can’t really fault 5 AHL d-men and a goalie playing his fourth game, especially against the Caps. But the forwards has been crap.

Did they really peak in January?
They actually had NHL defenseman in the lineup then. They’ve got 2 NHL rookies, 2 veteran AHL stiffs, a career 7th defenseman, and a young kid that will probably never play at this level again in the lineup tonight.

“A score reflectimg a fresher Washington team”
Come on Brick. Jack isn’t but you’re better than that. State media would be ashamed of that take.

Aside from the difference in team health, I have to think that their quality of competition was weak back then. A lot of Philly, NYR (who seemed to have improved a good amount since then), and Devils in the early season.

They beat this team in their building last Thursday.
