When Brad Wanamaker is wide open for a three during crunch time, that ought to tell you that the C's are in dire straits

Man fuck this dude I’ve defended him but he’s had one of the worst games of any player this season, a -27 in 26 minutes in a 7 point game. Fuck that dude.

Celtics' next three games: home against OKC, at Pacers, at Bucks.

Here's hoping Hayward and Brown get back soon.

Gobert just never leaves the lane... guys are impossible to box out if they never have to leave.

I dunno. Hard to get on Wanamaker’s case for that. Those were good looks and he’s a good catch and shoot guy. Just didn’t have it tonight. But he’s the third string point guard! The stars played terribly

Why did Brad play Brad so much?
There were a lot of long weird stretches tonite.. Theis and Tatum sat a lot in favor of Williams and Green.. They played almost the entire bench.. and Ojeyele sat a ton as well after he played pretty great to start.
Hard game to coach I'd guess with so many players out.

This feels like the first game that was 100% lost by the bench being utter ass. Yes the starters could have shot better but they had to chase this whole game because of that run wrapping around the 1st quarter break while Tatum was on the floor.

Guys who were basically unplayable tonight had to see way too much of the floor. I’d have let Semi play 40+.

He was 6-15 from three.... (Kemba was 1-7 so he gets some blame too)..but 15 threes is a lot.
15 3s is fine if you make 6 of them, i don't think there's any amount of 3s that's too many if you're making 40%

What is it with us not keeping our FAs healthy? Gordon, Kyrie, now Kemba. Horford being the most healthy of the recent crop is an upset.

I was about to point that out. I get that Smarf is a highwire act but the beauty is that generally it works in the C's favor.

Apologies to anybody I pissed off tonite. I'm normally a glass-half-full guy when it comes to the C's, but they can be incredibly frustrating to watch at times, especially when their effort wanes. The injuries make it worse, because at full strength this could be an amazing team. We may never know, unfortunately.

The Celtics could not buy a bucket tonight and were a craptastic 37% from the floor and 28% from three. Tough for any team to win when shooting that poorly. Credit to Utah’s defense but the Celtics missed a ton of good open looks. Also Tatum’s streak of 30+ points came to an abrupt end. Guess he is not the best player ever to wear a Celtics uniform (yet).

Understandable you are frustrated, but this is far from a proper Celtics team right now. For the next X days until the injured players return, set your expectations low and be surprised if the 3 starters & 7 reserves come through. I'm going to the game Sunday night and am definitely concerned about Chris Paul schooling us.

fair enough...(although he was 5-14 until he made the last second one, also 8-22) Just felt like his misses at some of the times they happened were huge (Wannamaker's were obviously bigger when they happened).

Tatum and Walker had quiet nights.. just a weird game all around.

edit: I know Smart shot a good percentage tonight.. but I just don't love when he's bringing the ball up the court half the game (I know it's needed right now), but I just feel often that he goes off script and looks for his own shot a bit too much...but maybe I'm just being overly critical. It seemed like he was left out there with not much to pass to tonite tho too.

Generally I think the sub patterns were just strange.. beyond the fact that they have so many injuries right now. Wish there was a good place to see when and for how long players sat.. just felt odd tonite.

Every season there is a player Stevens inexplicably gives a long leash to (Crawford, Turner, Morris, Rozier). This year it is Wanamaker. Injuries have kinda forced his hand but it's getting frustrating.

Yep. It just sucks that this run of injuries could results in the C's getting a brutal first-round matchup. They're only 4.5 games ahead of the Sixers at this point.

Its compounded by the injuries. It all trickles down. Smart starts chucking. Brad gets too many minutes. Etc. it’s really a miracle this team has done so well since they’ve had basically 8 games at full strength. Which gets us to your second point... wtf is up with the Cs training staff? This can’t be a coincidence, right?
