In the simulacrum
Big Game.

One* team left to slay for the regular season title and the Bruins get their crack at them today! Let's Go!

Potential four point swing on the line for the conference and the President's Cup as the Bruins play today with a 15 point lead on Carolina and a 'magic' points number of 7:
Carolina's current max-out is 124 with 11 left. The Bruins are at 117.

A loss, obviously, and nothing changes. A regulation win though and we're down to a 3 point magic number for the Bs. (The Bruins already have the first tiebreaker vs. Carolina, if it came to it: RWs).

Should be fun. Should be more fun if the Bruins win. I suggest they win!

*NJ, while not yet formally eliminated from the conference race, would be so with a Bruins win or tie. NJ's max-out is 118 (and they also don't have the tiebreaker).

Weird, 5 pm start time.

LFG. Destroy the Whalers.

Canes played Toronto last night, so hopefully should be less of an ambush this time around.

Carolina's a possession juggernaut that emphasizes volume shooting, so this game is a clash of philosophies. I hope Monty's system proves superior today.

Everyone on the Bruins is having fun. From the tik tok leprechaun up to the first line. Even @NHLBruins is in on the act, annotating their name with the clinched division title:

Beat the Whalercanes. Get a couple of 50s and a 57. Score early, score often. Win.

Be invincible and sow the seeds of doubt here in the Triangle. The Bs are playing the long game here.

I wish I could find it, but HNIC had a stat that said that Carolina was a volume-shooting team that relied on dump-ins more than anyone else in the league. If I can find the graphic, I’ll post it.

Gonna be even sweeter when they beat the whalercanes with these new lines.

Anyone have the link for Bergie and Brad’s color commentary?

Yeah I’d prefer no back-to-backs for Bergeron at this point. Would also be nice to get Hall into the mix one of the next couple weekends as well so he can get his legs again.

They should rename themselves the Carolina Whalers and adopt these uniforms going forward. Carolina borders the ocean, so it works.

how is not the carolina player not in the box for the roughing on Orlov?
Carolina guy didn't do anything to Orlov - McAvoy was the only person who did anything that rose to the level of a penalty. I didn't hear a whistle though so I'm not sure why the goal doesn't count.
