Spurs Gunners kick off in about 10 minutes. A lot of changes to the Arsenal starting lineup. Noticeably missing Aubemeyang and Ozil. Arsenal playing with a 4 back line with Mustafi at right back.

First beer will be cracked in 5.

Winks gets hurt, so Wanyama starts his first match in months. My kingdom for a midfield.

This lineup looks pretty effective early for Arsenal. Lacazette is gonna need to get one of these balls at his feet on net.

I wonder why no Aubemeyang (possibly to bring him on in second half against tired players?).. Emery continuing a tradition of arsenal coaches that doesn’t play his strongest players in big games...(of course I’m very partial to Özil)

Lacazette is starting because he's suspended for this week's Europa match, so you might as well get everything out of him.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn’t he play them together a bunch? And my roomie who is also an arsenal fan, who loves Ramsey, is proven write again

Spurs have no plan besides hitting long balls to the forwards or working Trippier up the right. They are incapable of working the ball through midfield.

Didn't finish my thought since Ramsey scored in the middle of it.

Makes sense for Laca to be in there, but I am surprised not to see both of them which we have often seen this year. I think Emery is opting for more two way players out on the wing for this one, but hard to say. Certainly working so far.

One big mistake by Sanchez and Wanyama is the difference in the game. Arsenal have the lead but I don't think on balance they've been the better team. It's been pretty even, I think.

I've been right that Spurs can't build through midfield and have no buildup other than through Trippier but that's been mostly ok because Arsenal are not marking Trippier and Trippier is playing pretty well. He is constantly getting into space and playing dangerous balls into the box. And because he's always open as an out ball and Spurs have centerbacks who can hit accurate long passes, he's disrupting Arsenal's press. Emery's plan to leave him open is not really working.

When Arsenal do mark Trippier tight Spurs can barely play out of their own half. But that requires the whole back line sliding across and pushing higher and that makes them more vulnerable to Kane and Son running in behind (which is how Spurs beat them at the Emirates in December). I wonder if we'll see some adjustments and counter-adjustments in the second half.

Wanyama has looked rusty, and while has passing hasn't been good his pairing with Sissoko has a lot of physicality and except for the one obvious example they've been good at breaking up Arsenal attacks.

Also the cardigan under the suit jacket look is not really working for Emery. Can't Pep teach him how to stylishly wear a sweater?

I was just typing up a "how long until Lamela will get booked" joke and it took him less than five minutes.

Not sure I get Llorente for Son unless Son is just plain out of gas, which is certainly possible. He was quiet today.

Kane intentionally undercuts a player and pretends he didn’t mean to.. then exasperated when he gets a yellow

Really? Is that really all on torreira there? I think it looked a lot worse than it was.. he was following through on the ball and rose ran onto it

Can’t lay the missed offside at Taylor’s feet, but he was pretty wretched throughout. He shouldn’t (and won’t) catch a sniff of a showcase match for a week or two...

How is the studs up into the Keeper a yellow but studs up while getting the ball a red?

Taken to the extreme one could break a leg and one could damage vital organs...

How does the side judge miss Kane off by a mile and vertongen almost level with aubemeyang when he took his pk?

Edit: also torreira was swinging through the ball when he hit rose. It wasn’t a slide tackle straight at rose like Rose’s was on the keeper.. Rose actually ran on late to Torreira’s tackle imo.

Outstanding strike by Andreas Pereira to level against Southampton

and now assists Lukaku on the 2-1 - Vestergaard played Lukaku onside
