Not much effort from the Bruins tonight. Didn’t hit, didn’t use their speed, didn’t get physical on defense.

right here
Lucky to have not lost 3 straight against the dregs
Would have liked to have seen a little more effort after the last 2 showings. Mildly concerning.

The Island
They have a tough 3-in-4 coming up to finish the road trip (desperate Winnipeg, streaking Minnesota, desperate Buffalo). If it’s more of this against them, the conference lead could be back in play.

No one injured tonight is the only important take away from tonight. This game really doesn’t matter.
A little "adversity", if they can even suffer adversity via a few RS losses after they've clinched the playoffs and are still way ahead in points, will do them some good.

Anybody else worried about Marchand? He doesn't look like himself. I read a recent article where he said that he thought he would be feeling better than he is after his hip surgery.

Not that it mattered, but the logic of the penalty shot rule seems silly: penalty shots are hardly a lay-up. And the way the rule is structured what you have is a situation where a higher leverage penalty results in a punishment that is almost certainly always worth it to take. A better rule would be that if you have a penalty shot worthy infraction, you get the shot and if you don't score it turns into a regular two minute penalty. Why is this not the case?
