Score a few goals? Maybe win a game?

Senyshyn is up and in the lineup. Jake is back in, playing LW. Bjork and Wagner are out. Rask is still unavailable so Halak is in net with Vladar backing up.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Ritchie
Frederic - Coyle - Smith
Kuraly - Studnicka - Senyshyn

Grzelyck - McAvoy
Zboril - Clifton
Tinordi - Vaakanainen

Halak
Vladar

This marks the first game Zboril, DeBrusk and Senyshyn will play together for the Bruins. Can't think of why they would be lumped together.

As much as I've dumped on Bjork, I thought hes played well (at least better than i thought he would) on the 4th line recently.

Overdrafted Zach Watch:
  • Senyshyn: 1G and 2A in 6GP across two seasons
  • Hamill: 0G and 4A in 20GP across three seasons

Senyshyn seems like he's where Marchand was going into the Cup year -- still a prospect but lots of doubt about whether he'll amount to anything. (Though Marchand was a touch younger than Senyshyn is now.) Will be exciting to see what he makes of this opportunity.

Marchand also had 91 points in 113 AHL games though. Senysyn has 49 points in 185 career AHL games.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't think there was every much of a doubt that Marchand would play in the NHL. It was a question of whether he'd produce enough to be a top 6 guy or if he'd be a bottom 6 pest type. It also took him like 25 games or so before he scored in the NHL.

I think with Senyshyn the question is if he will stick in the NHL or is he going to be a tweener. He looked good in 2 games last season before getting hurt. He's getting another opportunity now, let's see what he does with it.

Yes, Marchand was more productive in Providence, but I'll also say that the guys who you play with matter quite a bit and I'm unable to compare the differences, if any, in the talent level of their respective teammates (and more specifically, their various line mates).

It's been a while, but at the time that the B's inserted Trent Whitfield over Marchand on the 2009-10 playoff roster (i.e., the year before Marchand's breakout year), I feel that it wasn't so clear that Marchand would ever crack an NHL roster.

The questions around Marchand were mostly around if a guy his size could stay in the lineup at the NHL level. He had the skating skills and hands from day 1 in the AHL, but got pushed off the puck to easily. To his credit he worked his ass off and built himself up. Senshyn on the other hand has the wheels but not the hands. The odds are he’ll end up a lot more like Daniel Paille than even a poor man’s Marchand.

I liked DeBrusk's shot there on the breakaway. Seemed designed to get the kind of rebound he did, Ritchie had just not gotten to the right place.

Well, let's hope something clicks and he becomes something better than Paille. I guess we should know soon -- see how long he can stick around.

I wonder whether anyone other than Pasta scores in the shoot arounds before the game and between periods.

If there ever was an argument for the person who last touched the puck to get an assist instead...

That would have been great for Debrusk's confidence if Studnika could have finished that. Looks like sitting a game helped.

Apparently hockey is already being broadcast on ESPN+? The Bruins NESN feed is showing on Hulu labeled ESPN+

Did they show what happened to Smith on anyone's feed? I just saw him skate off holding his wrist.
