VAR offside is the cleanest VAR thing and it still just sucks to watch and provides results that don’t feel soccerish.

Kane gets one. Which is good, because I had him as First Goalscorer today.

Spurs look mad in the good way today, which is nice because I was expecting mad in the “fuck the manager” way.

Everton got completely boned by VAR waving off a Gray goal for handball at the end of the first half.

1-0 Toffees. Make a 1’ goal stand up. Dominated 1st half, ran out of gas, hung on for dear life.

I’m going to need some clarification on why extending your elbow into the ball as part of the wall isn’t a penalty. He made himself bigger, intentionally, and knocked the ball away. That’s insane.

that’s one of the dumbest penalties I’ve seen in a while (obviously the right call though)

Agree 100%. This is what the rule is for, supposedly.

Let me know what you think of the VAR reversal of Grays goal, if you see it. He was a couple of yards out, a deflection hit his chest and went in. The goal was given but on VAR review waved off. It certainly was not clear and obvious and even as a homer I just don’t see where it hit arm below the shoulder.

I don’t like being a paranoid or a conspiracy theorist brut it’s getting hard not to be.

Jesus on the bench today. Huge fir the title race if he can start logging minutes again.

I think West Ham just deployed a successful counter-Emi PK strategy - have a different player actively get up in Emi’s face and soak up all the histrionics while the kicker calmly preps himself.

Casemiro is finally getting outed as the dirty player he is. He got away with this shit in Spain and doesn’t understand why he isn’t protected in England.

Jesus in late.

Arsenal toyed with Fulham today. Fulham hit the bar but otherwise did little and Arsenal could have had more. Trossard set up all three goals. I wasn’t sold on that signing but he’s become essential.

Rough day for Pope so far. Got away with what should arguably have been called for a pen and a red in the first half after giving it away in the box with a poor touch and knocking the Wolves player down, and then got completely out of position to let Wolves get an easy equalizer on essentially an open net midway through through the second.

I missed the first half incident, but the second one was Trippier’s fault. Pope was going to easily collect that.

I thought it was an unlucky red. He gets the ball, goes over it and into the Southampton player. But to be honest I think it could have gone either away. I was more bothered by the non penalty decision of a clear handball in the box.

Without Casemiro we should be okay with the 4 fixtures, with the FA Cup tie being the one I’m most nervous about. The problem is we’re without Casemiro, Eriksen, and currently Sabitzer. If one of them is healthy I’d feel better. Bruno, for as good as he is (ignore the haters) does not belong in a midfield 2. He needs to play as the 10 to dictate and do what he does best which is create the most chances in the league.

the Liverpool game was a freak result. Sure it stings but it doesn’t undo the progress the team has made this year, all without a center forward.

0-0 at the half in Wolfsburg. Pretty pedestrian match so far. Union Berlin look like the constant stream of games might be wearing them down. I can't remember the last time Becker didn't play.

Wolfsburg (thankfully) missed a one on one opportunity at the end of the first half.

Pretty soft penalty against Wolfsburg, but probably the right call. Juranovic converts a no-worries penalty to make it 0-1 for FCU.

Fucking hell. Was that not offside? I missed the replay in my disgust.

Why is Palace starting a 19 year old keeper, with another on the bench?

Kick save and a beauty by the Palace 4th-string U8 keeper, or whoever this guy is, to thwart an unmarked Estpuian in the box, and deny me FPL points.

Palace look second best here.

The Palace keeper has done an admirable job as a 19 year old in a derby.

How Palace just bottled that a minute ago tells you how 2023 has gone for them.

As much as I want Palace to at least get a point tonight, I'll trade a loss in this one for a win tomorrow.
