Since my daughter (and my money) will be going to Colorado State next fall, I've adopted the CSU Rams as my new favorite team. That's a solid mid-major program now ranked #23 and undefeated so far this season. Their game next week against Alabama in Birmingham will be a great matchup of two uptempo teams.
Roddy is one of my favorite college players to watch. Men against boys. If his 3-pt shooting thus far is real you guys are looking at a Conference POY and sure fire All-American.

I am amazed that the BC FSU game is still on. It's not like that's going to get many fans either, with BC students being away and it being a Wednesday 5PM game. But I guess things can change in 9 days.

Five of seven Atlantic 10 games scheduled for the first night of conference play Thursday have been postponed or cancelled. Only the Fordham at La Salle and St. Joe's at Richmond games are still on as scheduled.

Zags are shooting 72% from the field and have 104 points with 5 minutes to go against BYU.

In BYU’s previous game, they held St. Mary’s to 43 points on 29% shooting.

Arizona running a very solid Colorado team out of the gym in the 2H. There is now a “Kerr” in the game for the Wildcats spotting up and wearing #25. I’ll just assume.

By the way, for any degenerate gamblers that bet the first half line in this game, it was UCLA -5.5

Washington St was comfortably ahead of Stanford by 11 points with 17:32 to go in the game. Over the next 12:05 the Cougars shot 0-12 from the field with 7 TO’s and a missed FT (for good measure of course) until a made FT with 5:27 remaining cut the Stanford lead to 11 ending the Cardinal 23-0 run. Wash St ended up losing by 5.

Another twist to that game was it was delayed for over an hour as one of the teams was waiting on results of COVID tests.

Correct. It was actually delayed twice when they were awaiting one players results. It finally came back “inconclusive” so they sent both teams back to the locker room as the player was re-tested.

Edit: It was actually multiple players and Stanford demanding the tests.

Edey wins the first half -- 14 points to lead all scorers. Cockburn (apparently pronounced Coburn?) looks really frustrated. He did close strong, drawing Edey's second foul and later hitting two free throws to end a Purdue 17-0 run. 37-26 Boilermakers at the half.

Illinois sends a 30% free throw shooter to the line, hits both. Purdue sends a 90% free throw shooter, misses 1 (and his third of the game). On to double overtime.

Great game to watch until the DC Fox affiliate switched to the Howard-ND game in the middle of the second overtime.

I'm looking forward to Purdue's Zach Edey and Illinois's Kofi Cockburn locking up tomorrow. Feels like a real old school big man matchup.
This was fantastic in a novelty kinda way. If anyone didn’t realize just how different the college game is from the NBA all you have to do is see that last years POY (Garza), this years top candidates (Cockburn and Timme), and the 7-4 kid who scored at will on Cockburn (Edey)……won’t play but token minutes at best in the NBA. Not to mention Hunter Dickerson at Michigan.

Good game in Bloomington as IU gets a great win at home against Purdue. My son (IU sophomore) is getting his first taste of college sports fan euphoria.

Wake is - dare I say it - good? I haven’t even thought that in about a dozen years.

Great win over UNC on Saturday and dominating BC today. They are fun to watch too. They play with quick tempo and share the ball well.

The Sons of Rusty LaRue board has been blowing up the past few weeks. I was thinking it’s been awhile since the Justin Gray years but upon further review (errrrr, Google) I had forgotten about the Teague, Aminu, JJ year). The transfer portal has its imperfections for sure but it really allows kids to get out of bad situations to have a fresh start without penalizing them. Alondes Williams has gone from being in Lon Kruger’s doghouse to being an ACC POY candidate overnight. So many great portal stories out there.

I know he has his detractors but Calipari is just amazing. Went into Phog, one of the best home court advantages in the country, and walloped a higher ranked Kansas by 18, in control the whole game.

I hope Eureka Pizza has enough staff on hanD

only caught Ot and the last couple of possessions of regulation, seemed like FT’s was the difference and Notae is a beast

still think Auburn will be pretty darned good in March

Arkansas not playing like the 0-3 conference team they were a month ago.

Michigan scored a much-needed marquee win last night at home against Purdue. This game wasn't close, as Michigan led by nearly 30 with under 5 minutes to go. Michigan got Edey in foul trouble early, and were able to D him up pretty well in the second half when he almost got going a bit. Michigan then focused all their defensive attention on Ivey and forced Stefanovic to beat them with 3s--he went 1/5. Michigan outrebounded Purdue 35 to 25, and OREBs 12 to 7. Michigan had 21 assists to Purdue's 5(!). Michigan also halved Purdue's 14 TOs with 7. Just a complete beating.

This keeps Michigan's tourney hopes alive. They still need to win a ton of games this month, and a win at home over a ranked OSU on Saturday would be a big boost.

Michigan's rotation is tiny right now, with all 5 starters going 30+ minutes. But they all shot lights out:

Dickinson - 8/15, 4/6 for 3s
Brooks - 7/8, 4/4 for 3s
Diabate - 7/12, 0/1 for 3s
Houstan - 5/10, 4/6 for 3s
Jones - 4/7, 0 3s attempted, 10 assists, 5 TOs

I read the story about this foul this morning and figured it was overhyped. Nope.

One of the most dangerous fouls I've seen in a college game. Collins needs to sit for a while.

Houstan shot reasonably well and didn't look scared on the court for the first time in ages. The rest of the team played with the kind of confidence I had assumed we'd see all season.

Only the second time I've seen this version of the team show up. (The Indiana game was the other one.) Need a few more wins over ranked opponents to get them in the tourney.

Baylor just lost a key frontcourt piece today when Tchatchoua slipped near midcourt and went down with a nasty knee injury. You could see the knee hyperextend and then basically come apart in slo-mo. Brutal.

Yea that was awful to watch. As is this performance from Texas.
That’s been Texas all year. I watched Chris Beard make monumental strategic errors in B2B games a couple weeks ago and that offense he runs is truly horrifying. Interesting situation with the Longhorns.

Yea agreed. I think Carr being truly awful has hurt far more than anything - I had high hopes from him coming from Minnesota but he’s had a terrible year.

Crazy ending to Duke Wake tonight. Duke took a 2 point lead (after blowing a 19 point lead) on a put back dunk with 0.2 remaining. The refs reviewed it to make sure it wasn’t goaltending, then also reset the clock to 0.4. Wake inbounded and rimmed out about a 70 foot bank shot.

I think the wake shot came after buzzer anyway

David Jones of DePaul just went down with what looks like a bad knee injury. Former big time recruit who was having a big breakthrough sophomore season. Hate to see this.

Houston is too tentative on offense. They’ll hold on to beat Wichita State, but they have passed on too many open 3s, only to turn the ball over later in the possession.
