I’m excited for Texas vs Gonzaga. This Texas team might be pretty good - Beard rebuilt the whole damn thing in 3 months.

Jim Boeheim has both sons, Buddy & Jimmy playing for him (his oldest was Cornell's leading scorer 2 seasons ago).

Syracuse is flying under the radar. A bunch of Juniors and Seniors. Also picked up a Nova transfer

If there are any Seton Hall fans they snagged a real good one in Kadary Richmond

I'm really upset how Boeheim handled the Kadary situation. Apparently he transferred because Boeheim told him that Girard would be the starter. Girard isn't close to as good as Kadary, and Richmond gives them something they don't have anywhere else. He can get into the lane on his own. He also gives them great length at the top of the zone, unlike Girard.

What's done is done but man, JB screwed that one up badly.

But I agree - this SU team could be sneaky good.

Agreed. Jim screwed up huge there, but he probably figured he has Joe for 2 more seasons and Kadary is gone after this season.

Kadary was their best player last season by a decent margin. Having length (esp wingspan) at the top of the 2-3 is hugely important. Buddy/JG are defensive sieves at the top

Watched some of the exhibition last night and Tre Mitchell, a transfer from from UMass, is a scorer.

Carr’s defense looked very good.
Landed 3 studs in Carr, Mitchell and Allen is jaw dropping. Flat out jaw dropping.

Kentucky picked up a commitment from the #1 player in the Class of 2022 Shaeden Sharpe and he will be reclassifying and joining UK in January. He'll be able to play right away and all of next year as he can't go to the NBA draft as he will have graduated after the NBA season starts.

I'm jealous of all of you that have something to look forward to this season. As a Rhode Island fan this season only matters in determining the fate of our head coach. Do we show enough that David Cox gets extended (only has one more year after this one left) or does he continue to dismantle everything Dan Hurley built and we move on. Truly underwhelming times in Kingston.

I’ll be at MSG tonight and couldn’t tell you the name of a single player on either team

Excited for the Chris Beard era to kick off. I"m sure in true Texas fashion it'll turn out to be a terrible hire, but hey hope springs eternal!

Wendell Moore is still on Duke. That's the only player I know. He just hasn't left the school yet, a holdover from all the way back in the 2019-2020 season.

I didn't watch most of it but UVA went on a several minute drought on the offensive end in the second half.
A several minute drought is like an offensive explosion for them.

K seemed really happy.

Can’t wait until next year and hopefully their slide into pre-1986 irrelevance.

Ivy League off to a good start this year. Princeton beat South Carolina on the road, Yale crushed UMass and Dartmouth beat Georgetown in DC. Brown only lost to North Carolina by 7.

Princeton went to 2OT against Minnesota before falling short 87-80.
Not to be the turd in the punch bowl but to add context that Minnesota is preseason 14th in a 14-team conference. Gophers were only favored by 2 pts. Similar with Umass regarding prior post as Yale was a small favorite.

I think the new transfer rules are going to wreck havoc on parity. The gap between the haves and have nots are going to widen dramatically and Head Coaches/Recruiters will have an even greater impact than ever before. UMass is a good example….in the past they would return their best player, Tre Mitchell, for his 5th year while being competitive in the conference. Now, he can leave the program with an enormous hole while joining a Top-10 team in Texas.

Duke guard Michael Savarino, grandson of coach Mike Krzyzewski, and star freshman Paolo Banchero face DWI-related charges after Savarino's arrest early Sunday morning.

According to court records obtained by The (Raleigh) News & Observer, Savarino, 20, was arrested on DWI charges and Banchero, 19, was charged with aiding and abetting DWI.

Savarino was pulled over early Sunday morning after a stop sign violation, and an ensuing breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.08. That's the legal limit in North Carolina. He is also accused of failure to yield at a stop sign and driving after consuming. His license was revoked for 30 days, as is standard under North Carolina law. He was taken into custody without incident, a police spokesman told WTVD television.

According to citations obtained from the Orange County District Court by the News & Observer, Savarino was driving a white 2017 Jeep SUV registered to Banchero, who was a passenger in the back seat.

Banchero was charged with aiding and abetting DWI and was cited and released.

Anyone watch Gonzaga-UCLA last night? Thoughts on Chet Holmgren? I saw highlights and yeah he's super skinny but he has skills and looks like the real deal. Those were just highlights though.

He was pretty average at best vs Texas, I turned off last night's game when the Zags were up like 20 within the first 6 minutes. He'll be great, I'm sure. That Zags team is basically unbeatable.

Heck of a game pulling that one out with Banchero out or looking like he was on one leg for the second half. The growth of Moore has been impressive to watch. Keels needs to get more consistent, but this team has so much size and athleticism that it doesn’t really feel like a Duke team. I freaking love Williams too.

Winless Texas Southern just beat #20 Florida by 15 in Gainesville.
Obv a big upset but Tx Southern isn’t your typical winless team. They load their non-conference schedule with buy games every year and are their conference favorite nearly every year. They have been ahead at the half this year against St Mary’s, Washington, NC State and now Florida.

Since my daughter (and my money) will be going to Colorado State next fall, I've adopted the CSU Rams as my new favorite team. That's a solid mid-major program now ranked #23 and undefeated so far this season. Their game next week against Alabama in Birmingham will be a great matchup of two uptempo teams.

Seton Hall has gone into a COVID pause that has cancelled their game on Saturday against Iona and could impact their first 2 Big East games next week.

UCLA cancelled their game last night against Alabama State due to COVID issues.

In total, for now there are 6 teams(Penn State, Cleveland State, Tulane, and Cornell are the others) that are on a COVID pause or have had games cancelled because of it.

Here we go again.

George Washington's home game Wednesday 12/22 will now be held without fans due to an uptick in reported Covid cases.
