The Sea Dogs season is over, as they miss the playoffs despite having the best record in their division this season, 78-60:

The Sea Dogs completed their season Sunday with a 78-60 record. If the regular season was taken as a whole, that would be enough to win the Northeast Division, a game ahead of the Hartford Yard Goats and 2 1/2 games ahead of the Somerset Patriots. But the Eastern League awards playoff spots to the teams that win each half of the season. Portland finished 2 1/2 games behind Hartford in the first half and 1 1/2 behind Somerset in the second.

So the Yard Goats and Patriots begin their best-of-three series for the division title Tuesday, and the Sea Dogs, despite their April to September consistency, clean out their lockers and head home for the offseason.

Season's over but one of the best and most memorable Sox AA teams eva!! CATM at the front end of that lineup will forever be remembered by us Minor League Thread nerds, right up there with the Killer B's/X AA teams and the 1999 90+ win Trenton Thunder team

Delta Dental purchased the naming rights to Hadlock Field...sort of.

It will now be: Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field.

Hadlock Field gets renamed with Sea Dogs, Delta Dental partnership (wmtw.com)

I understand how these things work, but the Fisher Cats playing at Delta Dental Stadium in the same division 100 miles away is odd.

From Wikipedia: "In 2011 insurance company Northeast Delta Dental signed a 10-year contract for the [Fisher Cat's] ballpark's naming rights with a five-year option. The stadium has since updated the name to simply Delta Dental Stadium although Northeast Delta Dental is still the stadium naming rights holder."

The Fisher Cats began play at Gill Stadium, just over a mile away.
