Why? They weren't all at the game:

Twelve of those people -- including some who were at the Jan. 13 game -- had to undergo amputations involving mostly fingers and toes.
That they didn't say how many were at the game tells me it was probably just 2-3 drunk idiots.

If I’m the Patriots there’s no way I’m bringing Duggar back now unless it’s an extremely team-friendly deal. He’s just not good enough in coverage and there are so many other options now.
Agreed. I think the flood of safeties on the market might lower his expectations

Duggar has been tagged. If he doesn't get any offers or is lowballed, he will play at the $13.1M figure next season.

That should factor into any conversation about him on the Patriots next year.

Has he accepted the tag? I thought that the Pats could retract it before he accepts? Not that that is likely, but I suppose it's at least slightly possible in light of the changes since they tagged him.

I know opinions vary on Jeudy but that doesn't seem like much to give up for him?
More than they gave up for Cooper.

1 year 13m and while he has tools, his production has been poor, basically in the Juju, Jakobi, Bourne tier...Bourne is actually a good comp.

Edit feel like the surprise from people is because he was drafted high, if a guy with the same production drafted in the 5th went for that nobody would be surprise here

Denver continues to do some baffling things. Guess I was a lot higher on Jeudy than the consensus. Anything below a 3rd I would have considered a steal. Great deal for Cleveland if he plays to his potential.

Trading draft picks, even low rounders, for an underperforming guy on an expiring contract (exercised 12M 5th year option) is exactly what the Pats shouldn’t be doing but it makes sense for a team with a solid roster who is in contention (or views themselves to be a real contender)

There’s no way Jeudy is worth, or presumably would consider a low ball extension. The draft is deep at WR. While day 3 picks are unlikely to be as good as Jeudy is now, it’s also unlikely Jeudy will be worth keeping at whatever his price tag is in 2025 and beyond. He’s not good. At best he’s a mediocre/slightly below average #2 who you hope can blossom into a solid #2 or low end 1. He’s not going to get a chance to break out on what is likely going to be a trash offense in New England and the Pats need to find a #1/2 who isn’t a one year prove it guy.

Pats have only 7 picks, and there is gonna be good WR talent around in the early to mid rounds, not to mention they have many short and long term roster needs. A 5-6 pick draft to rent Jeudy, who is an ok number two receiver and who I’m not extending right now, isn’t ideal given the Pats’ situation. Unless it’s Aiyuk on the other end, I’m good hanging onto picks.

I like the trade for Cleveland, I'd be talking myself into it if the Pats had made it, but I'm also fine that they didn't. This trade would have been a lot more attractive for us last off-season.

95M guaranteed strikes me as a lot for a non-QB that will start this season as a 30 year old.

Getting paid like an EDGE, previous high in guarantee for a DT was I think Donald at 66M... 95M is a lot for an edge too, but not top 3.

I feel pretty confident Belichick would have let him walk or done something like the Seymour deal. KC isn't going to ride like that; much more conventional approach. I'm sure the team and fans are happy. I think he's their second most important player.

nope, they made the smart moves, they traded Hill, they let Mathieu walk, let Juju Walk, they're going to trade Snead, maybe re-structure a few deals and be fine
TBH I’m still kind of surprised how well trading Hill has worked out. Dude is obviously a legit star, but Mahomes has really proven his greatness the last two years without him.

They need space to cut Wilson. Without Wilson, 2024 is going to be a crummy year anyway and so getting something back for a guy that is a FA after this year to clear up space seems like a decent move.

I'm sure it's in reality like 2/60, but that being basically guaranteed it still seems like a lot.

I know... Tampa likely has the space for it.
I’d have signed the Pats up for this contract in a second. Then trade down and pick up a ton of assets and spend the next 3 years trying to find the franchise QB.

the reason way simmons and jeredy are no longer in denver is cause of russ jeredy vaule was a 3rd round pick i cant belive we couild not get at least a 3rd for simmons or a 4th that goes to a 3rd in 25 ne shouild had give a 4th and 5th for jeredy and simmons

Where would we possibly find him if we have Baker and winning enough games to draft no worst than the middle of the round? That leads to Mac Jones.

We'd end up giving up the assets we acquired to move back UP in a draft to pick someone that's likely rated pretty similar as a prospect to Maye/Daniels, because if there's a Manning or a Luck out there, no one is dealing the pick away.

It was inevitable. They got massive ratings, as usual. There will be a day in the future where they play 7 days a week.

My guess is it'll be the first game of the new week, and both teams will either be coming off a bye or a Thursday game the previous week.

They're playing Saturday games by this point, right? So one of the teams could play Saturday and Wednesday, which would be the same as playing Sunday and then Thursday. The "maximize player safety" approach would be what you suggested, but I'm not going to rule out a team playing Saturday and then Wednesday.
