Bill isn't going to like ANY rookie quarterback, and he's not wrong. Even Peyton sucked for a year in the NFL before turning the corner.
He basically said that he can make all the throws but he needs a lot more reps in order to better read defenses because his receivers aren't going to be as open in the NFL.
I guess that could be considered shitting on him. I wonder how Bill would rate Maye coming out of college to Mac. Because one of our major issues with Mac in the NFL was that he was very skittish.
Yeah, it’s an imperfect science of course. The last QB we picked looked great but never faced adversity at all and was surrounded by insane talent.

Marvin Senior was a thug, he was implicated in a murder. No idea about Jr, but senior was a bad man and an incredible receiver.

He can make all the throws. Great arm but can throw with touch, in or out of the pocket. He’s big. He is a great athlete. He apparently has a tremendous work ethic.

Yeah, really missing those great BB drafts right now. Then again, I was also about 21 years old when they happened.
This is deeply unfair to MHJ, who to my knowledge has never been in trouble. And his old man always looked clean-cut.
So many people want to compare MHJ to his father beyond ability… MH hated playing with an audience and would have preferred to play in an empty stadium. I think the kid has taken something of a different approach. But I’m no expert.
I’m not a NFL fan and don’t watch games really so I dont give a shit. But I do watch a toooon of CFB. Maye’s footwork hadn’t improved since he was a HS senior.

As said before, my theory is teams get players with similar names to their coaches. So Mayo gets Maye, Mike McCarthy gets JJ McCarthy, and Sean McDermott gets Penix

One way to get back to greatness is establishing one unit at a time. Might as well start with special teams.
I've no problem with the pick, but put me in the skeptical department with Maye. A lot to do, in an uncertain environment in which to do it.
So I guess that's the first indication of what teams are thinking about in their evaluations of JJM.
