Having great starting pitching in short series, whether it's 3, or if 5 or WTA single, is darn valuable.

Totally. I haven't seen much of the Royals, and the Orioles wouldn't really bother me -- I know a couple long suffering Orioles fans.

As long as the Astros and Yankees don't win, I would be fine with any other team winning. And while I'm sure this will prove wrong, it feels like this year the best teams are in the NL -- Dodgers, Phillies, Brewers, Padres, surging Mets.
I don't have really strong NL preferences. I dislike Atlanta because of the way they cheer, and I guess I like the Padres and the Brewers. I've moved to California, and I'm right on the Giants/Dodgers line. I played tennis with some Dodgers fans for years, and I have a complicated relationship with them. I'd be happy for people I know if they won, and I delight in their continued futility. They have the curse of trying to get a second inning out of Joe Kelly in the World Series, I think, and I love it.

I don’t remember what Cuellar pitched like except that he kind of had ownage on the Red Sox.
Just as Valdez tends to do with the Red Sox, one of the reasons why he reminds me of Cuellar. Both lefthanded junk ballers, good curves, sliders, both came up with the Astros. Cuellar had the aforementioned screwball, and when he he got his soft curve over, he was unhittable. Really, really, underrated.

The fact that that ball was a single proves that baseball is governed by the vicissitudes of a probabilistic universe.

Is the middle infielder's foot part of the runner?

If not, he's safe

This game should have been at 1 (Astros can't sell tickets anyway) so we don't have to miss any of Royals Balt

I saw the misplay and thought "he's gonna get three" but then they cut to the runner, lumbering around first...

Saving a run?

Concept doesn’t work in this inning

only thing that matters is out or baserunner
