I think it's the first time we've seen numbers?Fuck's sake
Wait, that's not new
It's too bad the Yankees were too poor to resign him.Kahnle could close for DET.
They have like twenty relievers, most of whom cost less than Kahnle just signed for (checking now, all of them except Devin Williams cost less, Loaisiga is somehow the second highest paid at $4.5M).It's too bad the Yankees were too poor to resign him.
OK. I still would rather they resigned Tommy. They have like twenty relievers, most of whom cost less than Kahnle just signed for (checking now, all of them except Devin Williams cost less, Loaisiga is somehow the second highest paid at $4.5M).
Darn. That’s one that I did hope the Sox would get.
There's their bridge to Carson Williams.
I think there may have been signs Taylor's stuff is deteriorating. Pretty large drop-off in his O-Swing% last year to under 20%Giants traded Taylor (the good one) Rogers to the Reds, along with $6m, for Braxton Roxby, who had a 5.2 ERA in AA last year. I am puzzled. You sign Willy Adames for a zillion dollars and then trade a solid lefty reliever to save $6m?
Also, Lucas Erceg is better.Seems like a significant commitment for a guy who up until last season, at age 31, was just another fungible relief arm.
It does seem like Estevez cashed in at the perfect moment, after putting up the lowest BABIP of his career by leaps and bounds (.229 vs. career BABIP of .309).Seems like a significant commitment for a guy who up until last season, at age 31, was just another fungible relief arm.
This puts Toronto about 29 mil over the tax. Are they now out on Bregman and Alonso?
God I desperately wanted Flaherty over Buehler. He was better by every measure.Funny structure where if he is hurt enough to not start enough games but will be healthy next year, he probably still opts out anyways. EDIT: And it seems like 25M AAV is his goal in getting this deal

I did too, but like Hoffman this price basically screams that his body is a minefield.God I desperately wanted Flaherty over Buehler. He was better by every measure.
Hope I’m wrong.
To me this deal screams "sign early, because you don't want to get stuck once all the aggressive spenders have gone home". Luis Severino got 67/3 with an opt out.I did too, but like Hoffman this price basically screams that his body is a minefield.
Dude was one of the better Balls and strikes calling umps (called a perfect Game 2 of the 2022 World Series,)
Understatement!! I loved his ump scorecards (although I guess some people take issue with those). Anyway, his strike zone suggests he was a man of unimpeachable integrity. But strike zones aren’t everything.Dude was one of the better Balls and strikes calling umps (called a perfect Game 2 of the 2022 World Series,)
He’s easily one of the best. Or was. What a shame.Dude was one of the better Balls and strikes calling umps (called a perfect Game 2 of the 2022 World Series,)
The part that gets often overlooked is that “he didn’t bet on baseball“ doesn’t mean that he can’t be influenced because of gambling debts bet on other sports.Big time sports have big time trouble right now. That's trouble with a T, and that rhymes with B. And that stands for betting. Holy fuck the Pandora's Box that has been opened.
Right. And the tweet says he deleted messages that were important to the MLB investigation. Whatever he was up to, he appears to have been aware it wasn’t anything he wanted being uncovered. The part that gets often overlooked is that “he didn’t bet on baseball“ doesn’t mean that he can’t be influenced because of gambling debts bet on other sports.
Yep. Not saying that Hoberg wasn't wrong, but all of the leagues are reaping what they sowed with their partnerships with gambling organizations and blasting us in the face with it for 3 hours a night while we try to enjoy our sports. This is a clear moment of "I am shocked that there is gambling in this place..."
I am sorry but fostering and partneroing with gambling sites and betting made so easy and "painless" will lead to situations like these.
The outlook for Rich Dauer is, ummm direCan people please go back to posting the verbiage in the Tweets? The tweets never show up for me and so I have to try and deduce what in the world is happening based on responses.
