Yes, his footwork is crazy with heels and toes coming off the ground at different parts of his swing.Yeah. When he putts poorly, he's still a top 10 finish guy. When he putts well, he dominates. I don't understand how sometimes, when his footwork is all over the place when he swings, and he's got a hitch in his swing, but hey, it works for him.
He is like 00s Tiger. He's longer than everyone. His irons are WAY better than everyone. And if he's putting well, he cannot be beaten. He's also nails in the clutch, which is just so freaking impressive. These shots he's hitting are art. He’s the closest thing to Tiger
I was thinking that when he didn't get out of the bunker earlierWait a minute….i know that shot shape! That’s mine!
Spieth early in his career went on a massive heater, but nobody's played as well as Scheffler has since Tiger dominated the tour. He’s the closest thing to Tiger
Definitely, but Spieth did it with incredible chipping and putting. Almost supernatural putting. He was never a bomber. Just a young man who had no fear, so he drained everything.Spieth early in his career went on a massive heater, but nobody's played as well as Scheffler has since Tiger dominated the tour.
I gotta think, though, that those swing mechanics will catch up to him at some point. I remember people saying that Norman had a "loose" swing, and that it would catch up to him. But right now, Scheffler looks just unbelievably good. He's also got the killer instinct and the right demeanor out there. Scottie appears to be more sustainable. It's just steady and really long and really tight.
Nobody stays atop forever, except Tiger Woods. So it's fair to say Scottie keeping this up is not a guarantee.I gotta think, though, that those swing mechanics will catch up to him at some point. "Oh no doubbbbbbbbt!" - Jean van de Velde"Morikawa has to make it to have a chance." He makes it. He's 5 strokes behind. That's not a chance, Jim.
Heard that! This entire majors season will be interesting. With these guys now all 12+ months out from the PGA tour, will the difference really start to catch up? They’re not replicating the pressure, field size, format, or duration (72 holes). I wonder what the effects will be as they get further away from it.Nantz with a little shot at LIV.
At least through the first major, the LIV guys were really not involved. DeChamblees made a run but he's been gone for a while now. And the rest weren't ever close. Rham, DJ, and Koepka in particular were never even close.Heard that! This entire majors season will be interesting. I watched that live. Unbelievable, and, IIRC, he still had a chance on one or two shots to right the ship and win it, but he kept taking the not so safe shot.Too soon.
The good news for Jean, he lives forever in golf lore. Maybe even for sports lore.I watched that live. Unbelievable, and, IIRC, he still had a chance on one or two shots to right the ship and win it, but he kept taking the not so safe shot.
AND he can also play golf!Solid finish for Aberg. He's a good looking player.

Not sure, he might not have tipped his cap enoughSpectacular performance. What a player.
One of the great sports events of the year topped by one of the weirdest. Now it’s time for the awkward Butler Cabin ceremony.
Great idea. Hopefully, for your sake, Bible Study takes place on the driving range and putting green.I’m gonna start going to Bible Study
A more religious, less handsome, Mike Trout?Great post Masters interview with Scheffler.

He seems like a great, great guy, and super easy for me to root for. On the course he may not have the kind of personality that jumps off the page, but clearly in this interview he's fun, engaged, funny, answers questions honestly and deeply, and seems like he's got a really good head on his shoulders. I'm a fan.
Why? I’m curious and not challenging. I’m not really paying attention to impact of LIV.LIV has destroyed my love of watching golf, for the time being at least.
A few of the better players are there now. Notably Rahm, Dechambeau, Koepka and Smith. As well as a bunch who would be in their long goodbye years on the PGA Tour (e.g., Sergio, Watson, etc.). So some fans are cranky about being deprived of everyone being out there. Personally, I haven't really noticed a difference in the PGA Tour product? It's still a bunch of guys with freak show skill sets. But I also always liked watching Korn Ferry from time-to-time and like the LPGA Tour product too. Why? I’m curious and not challenging. I’m not really paying attention to impact of LIV.
The guys that left for LIV.... I just don't pay any attention to them at all, similar to your approach. I love the new young guys coming up on the PGA Tour and couldn't care less about Patrick Reed or even DeChambeau. Is it brand loyalty? Maybe. I just think LIV is dumb and I have zero interest in it. In fact, I kind of wish those guys were ineligible to compete in the majors. You want to play LIV? Fine, but the price to pay is no majors, and no Ryder/Presidents Cup. Take your money and run but that's the end of your golf career. Why? I’m curious and not challenging. I’m not really paying attention to impact of LIV.

It's a kind of weird comment in a major thread though since the majors still have everyone who matters in the fields.

For some, it will still be worth it. But for many who are currently thinking about going, nope, not gonna do it if that's the price to pay. Opens the door for good, exciting young players to come up. I'm fine with that.
If anything, banning LIV guys would only devalue the majors. You're basically left with 4 more Players which IMO is the tournmanet that's been devalued the most by LIV. The idea of the majors is to identify the best player(s) in the world. If you immediately disqualify a segment of professional players then you're not really doing that. The beef is between the PGA Tour and LIV, the majors are separate entites and their interests are to host a tournment featuring the best players in the world not get in the middle of that tussle. They've all basically just stuck to their pre-existing qualification standards. Many of the LIV players are going to slowly drift out as the years go on anyway. The guys that left for LIV.... It's not just about what it's done to the fields, for me personally. I hate everything LIV stands for and the way the thing has unfolded, with the PGA compromising itself in the process by cutting a deal with them.A few of the better players are there now.
