and thats a damming indictment on the entire jets organization
Is it? He's the second most successful coach in the franchise's 65 year history. Not sure he's a GOOD coach, but he's not particularly out of line with the similar re-tread coaches.

The problem with Rex who all Jets fans owe a debt of gratitude is who the hell is he bringing along? If he had that lined up it’s a different story.

Do we have a Browns thread? Because that's where I think Rodgers and Adams will be next season.
Browns literally cannot afford Rodgers or Adams (let alone both) and there is a 0% chance this will happen.

The quote is like listening to a coked up grandpa talk about TikTok:

“This Ben Johnson. I love him. I absolutely love him. But I’m a better candidate for this job than he would be.”

Aaron Glenn made my fucking day

Once you're a Jet you're a Jet all the way...

Haha. Hope we hire him, fuck it. Today earned him 3 losing seasons of support from me at least.

That interview is just as bad as the Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich ones.
How so?

They are now in compliance. But the oddsmakers favor Glenn who cannot be hired for a while. This is either for a coordinator role or they think they are still in in Vrabel or someone else not in the playoffs and want to hire soon.

Never coached in the NFL. Losing head coach at two stops in college. This is nothing more than the sham interviews the Patriots conducted.
I know it was virtual but they already interviewed Glenn and Rivera (in person). I mentioned above it is either coordinator or they want to hire an out of work guy. They already have invited Flores and Vance Joseph.

Ron Rivera was probably done in person as he was unemployed.

Grigson/Flores now being floated by Cimini. Flores is a total asshole and I’m here for it. Would have to hope Grigson learned a lot from the Luck situation. That’s not an inspired choice. Cimini says Saints might be the ones for Aaron Glenn.

Having lived in Indianapolis during the Ryan Grigson era, that is a perversely hilarious idea. Would be the ultimate Jets move.

I like Flores… he doesn’t deserve that.

Grigson...Jesus. Is it so hard to find guys who can do these jobs that teams gave to hire guys who affirmatively cannot? Flores would be interesting for the NYJ, but if I were them I'd look at Coen if Glenn does not work out.

Sources: Aaron Glenn has landed back in Detroit, via Woody Johnson’s plane. No deal as of now, but sources say a substantial offer was made and the #Jets’ job “is his if he wants it.”
Glenn is currently constructing his potential staff, which would ideally include #Lions quarterbacks coach Mark Brunell — if he doesn’t get the OC job in Detroit — who could be in play as the OC for Glenn. I’m also told Glenn wants to bring in a veteran DC who has been a former NFL head coach. Glenn, sources say, is still putting his offensive staff together. Former Jets special teams coach Mike Westhoff could be an option, should he decide to come out of retirement.
Glenn is currently scheduled to interview with the Saints later this week.

Good luck to him. Much better hire than Rex! That proposed staff appears competent too. If Caley gets OC and is successful that will suck. But what does the other Aaron say...?

Would love to see Westhoff return, if only because he’s such an egomaniacal prick. Not sure how much of a difference he’d make on ST, but his mic’ed up segments would be hilarious unless you’re a Jets fan. Was most recently AHC for Payton in Denver Until he stepped down for health reasons. Maybe he’d return in that role for Glenn.
