Ullmark is 7-0-1 with a .956% over his last 8 games.

That trade isn't looking great right about now.
Why cherry pick Ullmark's last 8 games? Looking at their seasons as a whole is plenty to show that Sway is well behind Ullmark. It's only close in that Sway has the same number of wins in more games played. Everything else is all Ullmark: more shut-outs and his other stats are all a fair clip ahead of Sway's season stats.

It's merely pointing out a streak, and it's especially interesting because both Ullmark and Swayman got off to poor starts this year. Ullmark has completely turned his season around, while Swayman continues to play poorly.

Swayman made sure to get his money, but completely forgot about the "got that money because he had played well" portion of the bargain.

So far (and it's very early, of course), it's looking like the Bruins are getting the short end of their goalie choice. 7 more years to go so we shall we what happens, but it's extremely disappointing, to say the least.

Sorry, I dont think that came off as tongue-in-cheek as it sounded in my head.

I completely agree and was more going for "you dont need to pick out his best streak to show that he's better". That with a winky face probably would have gotten the job done just as well.

I give Drury some credit for recognizing that despite a 12-4-1 record the underlyings were alarmingly bad and their record was unstainable. I think it's a good sign that he saw that and was being proactive. That part is good. The bad part is everything else. The leaks, the public strong arming of the captain, the handling of the Kakko healthy scratch and subsequent trade.

Looking back, the blew things up in 2016 when they traded Nash to the Bruins among other trades, sent a letter to the fans saying they were blowing things up. They tried to rebuild through the draft and his was basically their high picks:

2017 7th overall: Lias Andersson - Out of the NHL
2017 21st overall: Filip Chytil - Decent middle 6 forward, derailed by injury
2018 9th overall: Vitaly Kravstov - Out of the NHL
2018: 22nd overall: K'Andre Miller - Good defenseman
2018: 28 overall: Nils Lundqvist - Traded to Dallas, is a bottom pairing defenseman
2019: 2nd overall: Kaapo Kakko - Defensive winger, traded to Seattle
2020: 1st overall: Alexis Lafreniere - Good winger, but hasn't lived up to the draft hype
2020: 19th overall: Braden Schneider - Good defenseman
2021: 16th overall - Brennan Othmann - Hasn't made the NHL full time (3 career games)

From 2017 through 2021 they have only had 4 players drafted outside the first round reach the NHL. One of those is Matt Rempe who is a goon. The others are Zac Jones who is a fungible 6/7 defenseman, William Cuylle who looks like a good forward, and Adam Edstrom who is a bottom 6/AHL guy.

I think this is what can't draft looks like.

More just because factual inaccuracies annoy me, he’s played 22 regular season and 11 playoff games. And 127 regular season minutes and 67 playoff minutes. Does not change the fact he has an abnormally high suspension rate.

Good article on the Athletic (paywalled) on how that can't be the only change that Yzerman makes...premise is basically that while Lalaonde needed a more emphatic communication style, the roster is lacking the parts to get where they want.

Yzerman inherited a mess...but this is also year 6. They should be further along. Yzerman's seat should be between warm and hot.

It's not new - Jarvis and Slavin have some deferred comp in their contracts as well.

The player is still foregoing a significant amount of money for a period of time so it needs to make sense for both sides.
