Is there really any debate over who will get the no.5 rotation spot- Winchowski or Crawford- or is it just media driven for something to write at this point?

Did Winckowsi get rid of the mustache, or is it so faint that it's hard to see on TV? This Pirates' feed won't show a close look at his face, which is weird.
He hit 95 with the fastball a few times in the first, which is faster than I remember him throwing last year.
Nick Yorke with a good play in the field to end the first, 2-0 Sox so far.

They finally showed a decent look, the 'stache is still there.
The fastball not so much-- a 93-mph fastball is belted for an RBI double.

This Pirates team might be bad, but they could be fun to watch if some of the young guys develop.

Yorke with a diving catch of a popup in the outfield, then throws to first to double off the runner, who thought there was no way he was getting there.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
I don't know. . .sometimes it seems (even with the WBC) that Arroyo and Casas are the only regular getting ABs to be ready for the first game of the season. It's almost like Cora can't decide on the final man for the roster so he's playing all the candidates and none of the regulars.

Yes, I know it's spring training. I just hope we don't get "No Urgency Cora" who believes everything will get on track sometime during the second month, when the team has already fallen into a hole.

Duvall has about the same number of PAs as Casas.
McGuire has played in 13 of 23 games, which seems about right.
Devers, Verdugo Hernandez and Yoshida had WBC
that's 8.
Verdugo seems a bit low, but otherwise I dont see anything too worrisome.

Their rotation should be packed by week 2. Ten games in I'd think everyone who is expected to play regularly should be up to speed.

Can't wait to see Yoshida.
By the way, almost every other team has a more informative display than NESN. If you miss the player intro, no hope of finding it on the NESN score bug. All there is there is the pitcher's name. The Rays broadcast, which I saw on mlbn midday, even informs you of the umpires with a rolling info line periodically appearing at the bottom of the screen. All the info is in a line at the bottom. Much better than NESN.

Devers with a chip shot to the wall in left.

Might have been catchable, but off the bat it looked well short of the track to me

J.T. looks like he is suffering zero ill-effects from the beaning. Going oppo to the bullpen with that bright sun on the batters' eye is pretty impressive.

NESN says the game is 2-2, but both mlb.com and stats have the game at 1-2. Who made the second run for the Braves?
Edit: Now mlb.com seems to have caught up and are showing it tied.

Yes, NESN's scorebug is bad and annoying. They need to keep the batter's name up there. (Especially since many times, the pitcher's name is in the actual shot, on the back of his shirt.)
It's annoying and they should fix it.

Nice job getting the K on Acuna with runners on 2nd and 3rd!

Also, why is mlb.tv letting me watch this game? The t-mobile deal isn't until next week.

Either I'm going blind with middle age or Atlanta needs to switch up their font, cause Dodd's jersey sure looks like OOOO to me.

They just explained that Braves second run scored during commercial break on a strange play at the end of an inning.
Awesome. I haven't been paying the closest attention, but when I saw ITP's question I couldn't remember the run scoring at all
