That experiment didn't last very long...

Here's to hoping for a little hamstring tightness.
Or a cramp.

He was one out/batter from being done anyway, so I'm going to guess they're just being overly cautious and he'll be fine. Anyone else (except maybe Sale I guess) and no one bats an eye.

Rio Gomez is 28 & was a bad AA pitcher last year (6.55 ERA, 16 BB & 8 HA in 32 IP). He might not be a huge part of the future.

That was right in his wheelhouse. It was a no-doubter as soon as it hit the bat.

Schreiber either working out the rust or re-pumpkinning the coach. 2BBs, HBP, 2WP.

Bradford says that Paxton said "tweaked" hamstring. "more frustrated than concerned," or somesuch.

Bradford has become unlistenable on twitter and the radio since he started trying making the 'basebll isn't boring' thing and thing

And now he's doing a little pbp. Uncle Joe probably waiting in line at the port-o-let.

Miami (oh, Miami!)
Rob Bradford. I'm gathering that he bothers me less than he does many others.
I didn't have a video feed, so I was curious to hear about the prospects batting and what's going on. But instead I get to hear him go on and on about cows. Everyone that's lucky enough to do a radio broadcast for the Sox needs to have a mandatory tattoo on their arm "Nobody finds my personal musing interesting."

Castig is fine in that regard since it's 90% baseball and he never gets too out of hand with the other 10%.

I know Bradford does not give a shit about Kadvas batting because it's of no immediate benefit to his personal branding and podcasting and whatnot (which he was also happy to go on about.) But if you're going to hold down the job for an afternoon, try a little at least. Tell me what Kadvas looks like at the plate and how he's dealing with pitches. Do your personal promotion in between batters.

How did Norwith Gudino look? I'm moderately intrigued by some statistical things...

I thought he looked okay. Looked like the home plate ump gave him a little bit of a wide zone. The single he let up was flat and kind of middle-middle, not something you want to see to an actual MLB hitter, but he seemed to have decent movement. Control looked a lot better than what his B-Ref page indicates.

Thx!

Yeah, his control since the start of the pandemic has been disastrous. Prior to that, though, he seemed to be a ++stuff guy with decent control through AA. I doubt there's anything actually there, but he's a good archetype to take a flyer on. It's a lot easier to fix control than to add 5 mph to a fastball - even if it's super hard to fix control.

Tom Caron and Youk on the call.

From all accounts, Caron is a fabulous guy. His voice grates on me like fingernails on the chalkboard. I just can't shake it.
